Be careful that you don't download free books from pirating sites. They will load malware onto your Kindles.  :o

What is your opinion on the best way to advertise your book? My reviews have been excellent, but for some reason the past few weeks the sales have dropped like a rocket.  :P

Any authors have  problem with AMAZON removing reviews from your page site?  Twice now they have removed excellent reviews. One minute they are there, and the next minute poof they are gone?

Hi LIbby,

Interesting question. I am also on Goodreads and I think the problem right now is that there are so many books available at the touch of a button. I am so back logged on books I want to read it's like being in a room full of candy and not knowing where to start. Plus the availability of all those free downloads make it even more difficult to get your book read.

The fact that so many good books are out there is wonderful, but it has it's problems for us authors.
I wish you luck and I will check out your book. It looks like something I would enjoy.

i have read so many new authors this past few months.  THOMAS BLOCK ( around for a long time, but i just rediscovered him) , for those of you who love a good  thriller CAPTAIN, SKYFALL etal.
BLOCK'S NOVELS do for the airline industry what JAWS did for the BEACH INDUSTRY! Do NOT READ IF FLYING!
ELLEN LEVY SARNOFF: AUTHOR of DEWITCHED and UNHITCHED takes GRIMM FAIRY TALES and ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST and creates a wonderful new world. If you are a NORA EFRON fan you will love this wonderful author.
EDDIE UPNICK is the new man to go to for SCI FI. His trilogy starting with TIME WILL TELL is the new back to the FUTURE. Mixing history with sci fi he brings you someplace NO AUTHOR HAS GONE BEFORE.

My favorite authors are still giving us hours of great reading. LISA GARDNER, J.D.ROBB, and KEN FOLLETT just to name a few.  But if you are looking for new authors, check out the ones above.

How many of you make turn people you don't like into characters in your book in order to get revenge? I love making people that have driven me nuts in real life and turn them into despicable characters. It is a great feeling of POWER!

I find that I just don't have the discipline to write every day. My first novel came quick and easy, as if I was being channeled by an author who has passed away. My laptop is being tapped by dead people!. My second novel ( at the publisher now) came so much slower.
I have a wonderful idea for book 3 and 4, and I find that I am just writing when ever the mood strikes, but I feel like the writing has gotten better.
Anybody else suffer the same undisciplined behavior? IS there a cure? ;)

Let's Talk Kindle! / WHICH KINDLE SHOULD I BUY?
« on: January 20, 2013, 04:13:14 pm »
I currently own a NOOK BUT I have an I Pad and a Mac.and I phone...Most of my books are on KINDLE ON MY MAC. I would like to get a KINDLE and I was thinking of getting the best one to read on a sunny day,  since that is how I spend most of my time reading. I love sitting on my porch swing and reading, but the sun usually makes it so difficult on the versions I already have. Anyone have any suggestions?

Review of A Child is Torn: Innocence Lost
5 Stars

I don't very often use this phrase, but here it applies: this novel totally "blew me away." I could not but read this in the space of a few hours, as I was not about to put the book aside unfinished. That ending! The author does give a clue or two, but believe me, the denouement is not telegraphed and so comes as an unexpected revelation, to the characters as well as to the reader. Yet-logically it all works out, and after four and a half decades of self-study of psychology and a baccalaureate degree in the subject, it makes perfect sense, and I appreciate the ways in which the author works out the plot; and her discussion of the Nature vs. Nurture debate.

A young child, age ten, is found playing a video game in his living room; alone, except for his bludgeoned parents upstairs in their bedroom. He says, "I did it," yet no one can believe it; the boy is small for his age, almost silent. How could he have? Well, read on and find out: did he or didn't he? Why were the parents murdered? What really happened, and what is in the background of this family? Child abuse? A killer from outside the family? Be prepared for nearly continuous surprises in this very, very, rewarding novel.
