Good question, I do not know. I did read in the german article that it was writer's groups on fb who initiated a campaign to report the offending books. From what other indie author-publishers have posted, you can click on the author names in the article to see their catalogs. Most of the offending authors have not had their accounts suspended and still have available titles, only the offending titles have been removed from sale. Authors who had 100+ offending titles appear to have been removed from the store. (i have not clicked through and verified this)

Personally, I have only run across a handful of these, and I had not noticed a trend and did not report them. Is it worth your time or mine to click around the store to hunt these out to report? probably not. For myself, if i see it again, I'll report it, but I don't have the time or inclination to track them down.
You know, it can be worth your time.

These scammer steal cash that would go to an other author, otherwise.
One of them got an all star bonus - I don't think you would think this way, if you were next in line for the bonus if not for the scammer.

It will be worth checking at least the best seller lists for scam - they also may be a cause for low $$ per site read.

Just so.

If they have preordered, they have had it delivered automatically by Amazon.

I can take a look into that, but what do you mean by characters? Can you show me an example? Danke!  ;D

Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Ah, it's each keystroke, what I meant.
Everthing is counted: each letter, each number, each comma, each period, each space bar stroke. :)

As long as they don't know where I live I think I should be fine. :)
The Selfpublisher in Germany have to have their real name and address in the Impressum of each book.
It's required by press-law whereas every publication has to have included the address where the publisher can be legally sued in case of e. g. copyright infringement. 😕

Hey Alan, great plugin!
For your next update, is it possible to add characters - as the German community (where I just posted your plugin) doesn't go by words but characters. ;)
I figured, as you already gave a choice between words and pages it may be possible to add the character choice somewhere down the line?

Hi, I saw that above mentioned program -- photoshop-near -- is on sale for 39.99 in the mac app store.

Has anybody here used it already and can tell if it is worth to get? Thanks.

Writers' Cafe / Re: What's the point of writing if it doesn't sell?

There is nothing wrong with writing for love and not money. People spend hours tending gardens that provide only beauty and not produce that can be consumed.

If you can spare the time from the writing of what pays the bills without suffering a negative impact on finances so that you can devote some time to writing something you love, then you should consider yourself lucky.
This.

Would you mind providing a link to the submission page? I've searched the internet several times over, but I can't find anything. :(
Here it is (you don't need to search the Internet, only kboards ;) ):

Sorry, no answer for this and please forgive me capturing your thread - but I just found a typo in  your audible blurb. First book, second Para is "as" whereas only "has" makes sense ;)

Writers' Cafe / Re: How did you discover Kboards?
« on: May 27, 2015, 11:43:06 am »
Don't know exactly anymore.
I surfed the net for research and clicked a link, where I found a link which I followed. The was something interesting linked and I clicked, there I found a link ... finally,  absolutely unrelated to my research, there was a link which looked interesting and then there was a blog post of a bashful person who badmouthed this forum.
Can't withstand a good train wreck, so I followed the link and found ... no train wreck at all.
:)
