The Book Bazaar / The Wanderer's Path: The Gate of Aru-Gara
« on: May 09, 2012, 10:43:54 pm »
Hello, everyone! This is just to let people know a little bit about my upcoming six-part science fiction book series, and to post the link to my blog, where you can download free sample chapters of this body of work of mine entitled, THE WANDERER'S PATH: THE GATE OF ARU-GARA.

Here's a little bit about the story !!!SPOILERS!!!:

Christopher's sad dreary world changes when a mysterious new girl at his school says she used to know his now deceased older sister, and that his sister was once blessed with a vastly different life than the one she used to live. Even more baffling, the strange girl claims that Chris was granted entrance into this realm of existence she refers to as Niamaterian.
Chris doesn't know what to make of the girl's wild story, until he finds his sister's diary, and a curious mystery as to what really happened to his sister. His memories recall her dying in a car accident, but what is written on these pages tell a vastly different story.
Chris allows himself to be taken into this reality, and what he finds is more than what he could imagine, including it's many alien sights, along with new friends, a new home, and a chance for a better life.
But in Chris' search for the truth to his sister's fate, he discovers there is a heavy price for coming here, for what he is summoned to take part in reveals to be the most dangerous experiment into the realm of fate itself. Hidden deep beneath the veil of this vibrant utopia lurks shadows planning a demise against the manager of this experiment, who is Chris' new employer, along with the conglomerate Chris is asked to join. These threats are all a means to prevent a potential catastrophe of which it's warnings were all but suppressed and forgotten about centuries ago. It's warning were a prediction about the end of all things, written by an ancient civilization long sense gone from this reality, which states that a dark, destructive force lying dormant on another world will reveal itself to all through the choices and actions one young man would be destined to take in his desperate search for his lost loved one.

You can read more about it at wandererspathbooks.wordpress.com, and please let me know what you think about my work. I am very curious. (Although admittedly a little terrified.)

P.S. The final draft before editing of Part One is steadily nearing completion.  ;D

And yes, sense this is The Book Bazaar section on the Kindle Boards, I will post all important news relating to all six parts here on this thread only. Better to keep some space on these forums.

Introductions & Welcomes / Hello from Savannah, Ga
« on: May 07, 2012, 07:33:57 pm »
Hello everyone! My name is Matthew Botkin, and I live in Savannah, Georgia, although I'm originally from the Midwestern part of the United States. My usual day job is working customer service at the same grocery store Paula Deen normally frequents. I have gone to various colleges around Savannah for a few years, although I now find myself working hard on finishing my first book, which I'm hoping to get released sometime this year.
