Just posted this under Special Deals and Discounts:

Cash in $40 worth of coins at participating Coinstar machines and get a bonus $10 iTunes card.  You'll get a code at the bottom of your receipt to use immediately for the coins you turned in; the $10 iTunes card will be mailed to you.

(You'll get full credit for the coins you cash in.)

My son bought 3 seasons of a TV show (13 episodes per season) through iTunes which were all downloaded to his iPad.  He just noticed that now there are only 7 episodes in Season 1, and 8 episodes each in Seasons 2 and 3 (so now instead of having 39 episodes, he only has 23 on his iPad).

We went to iTunes and all 39 episodes are there, however some were marked with a circle, some with a half-circle, and others with none. It turns out that the episodes he'd already watched were the unmarked ones, the half-circles were partially watched episodes, and the full circles were the ones he hadn't watched at all.

We marked all the episodes as unwatched, and he's now syncing his iPad, so hopefully the missing episodes will reappear on his iPad.

Does anyone know of a way to prevent watched episodes from disappearing off his iPad?

Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod...) / Please help -- iPad/iTunes problem
« on: December 25, 2010, 07:32:58 pm »
This is way over my head, so I hope someone can help me.

My son just got an iPad for Christmas.  He's attempting to download all of his CDs into iTunes (legitimate store-bought CDs).  All of them but one went through fine.  On this one, it only shows track numbers instead of the artist and songs.  Does anyone know how to make the song names appear?

I tried searching on the Internet, and the closest I found was to go to the Advanced menu and click on Get Album Artwork, which we did.  The instructions also said Get CD Track Names was another choice on the menu -- I see it there, but it's light gray, and not an available choice.

If anyone can help, we would really appreciate it.  Thank you!  : )

Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod...) / Pop-Ups (on iPad)
« on: December 09, 2010, 10:10:34 am »
Is there any way to get rid of pop-ups on the iPad?  I just started getting a few since upgrading to the new software release.

One that I get is for a video for How Cast.  Also, when I go into some of my games I get pop-ups about Game Center (in which I'm not interested).

Let's Talk Kindle! / It's Coinstar Bonus Time again!
« on: December 06, 2010, 08:01:25 am »
***Alert: Things have changed from previous years. The $10 Amazon promo can now only be used towards Toys and Games.  See link directly following.***

Between now and December 31, cash in $40 worth of coins (in select Coinstar machines) towards a participating company's gift card/eCertificate, and get an extra $10 bonus.  (Amazon's offer doesn't start till December 9.)

It's a little different this year, in that you can go on the Coinstar website and enter a promo code that will be printed on the bottom of your receipt.  (You don't have to mail in your receipt as in past years.)  They will then in turn mail a $10 GC to you.

For those of you unfamiliar with Coinstar, it's a great way to turn your spare change into $$ for Kindle books via Amazon eCertificates.  : )  No handling fees -- you get back every penny you put in.  (Just make sure before you start feeding in your coins that the machine you're using will give you an Amazon eCertificate.)

(I know there was a lengthy thread about Coinstar and the bonus last year around this time, but couldn't find it to resurrect it.)

Edited to add: Corrected some discrepancies that luv caught before too many people read this post.  Thanks, luv!

Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod...) / Multiple users on one account
« on: November 07, 2010, 02:02:28 pm »
This may be a dumb question, but is there any way to have 3 users on one (my) iTunes account, but keep the monies (namely gift cards) separate?

I want to give each of my sons a $50 iTunes gift card for Christmas, but want them to only have access to their own card.  I also want access to my own card/amount.  Is this possible, or do we each need to have our own iTunes account?

Special Deals and Discounts / $50 iTunes card for $35 at Wal-Mart

Wanted to give everyone a heads up that Wal-Mart has $50 iTunes cards for $35 right now.  Quite the deal.  Sorry, but I forgot to ask how long this price will be effective.  Limit 2 per customer.  Great stocking stuffer!  : )

Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod...) / Discount on iTunes card at Wal-Mart

I'll post this in the Special Deals section also, but wanted to give everyone a heads up that Wal-Mart has $50 iTunes cards for $35 right now.  Quite the deal.  Sorry, but I forgot to ask how long this price will be effective.  Limit 2 per customer.  Great stocking stuffer!  : )

Saw this on AppAdvice this morning, and thought it might be of interest to some:

I just downloaded the Kindle app to my son's iPad, and all my books show up in his Archives.  I looked up how to delete books on the iPad -- I downloaded them to Home, then deleted them...but they ended right back in his Archives.

Is there a way for me to delete my books from his iPad altogether?

Does anyone know if there's anything I can do (like a hard reset or something) to my son's iPad which just won't turn on?  He says the battery is charged.  Thanks for any help you can give me.  : )

I was just messing around, and came across an interesting site with an array of iPad accessories, including a portable battery charger which got very high ratings.  Does anyone have any experience with anything like this?

Archives / FS: Perpetual Black Noreve for K2**SOLD**
« on: April 17, 2010, 12:10:47 pm »
I have a Noreve cover in Perpetual Black for sale.  If you've been following the thread in Special Deals and Discounts,22862.0.html, you'll know that I got this cover using the discount code Harvey posted, and at the time I bought mine I thought the code was only good for the black case (as posted by Harvey); however, at later times others tried using the code for other colors and it worked.  And as I stated in my posts, I would've much preferred the cover in Sandy Vintage.

The cover is really very nice and in perfect condition (though I threw away the flimsy box it came in -- hadn't even considered that I might sell it), but very similar to my black Tuff-Luv that I already have...and I really would've preferred a brown cover to match my purse.   :-\

So if anyone is interested, I would like to sell my 2-day old, never-been-used Perpetual Black Noreve cover for $55, including shipping.  I'd prefer payment via an Amazon Gift Card rather than PayPal, because when I recently sold my Oberon cover via PayPal, I ended up getting charged several dollars in transaction fees.

Sorry, I don't know how to post pictures, but as I said, it's in perfect condition.  Here's the link to the cover on the Noreve site:

Kindle Accessories / Kandle for international customers
« on: February 02, 2010, 01:51:19 pm »
For international customers wanting the Kandle, you can contact the company at [email protected], and they'll ship to you directly. You do have to have access to PayPal.

They are also going to be making the Kandle available on (Germany) to test in Europe.

The Kandle's my favorite light out of all that I own, though I guess it's not for everyone.  : )

Kindle Accessories / Kandle now has free shipping
« on: January 29, 2010, 08:26:38 am »
For those of you who were interested in the Kandle light, shipping is now free with Amazon Prime.  And if I remember correctly, shipping (without Prime) is free for sales over $25 -- ??  Well, if that's the case, that's the exact price of the Kandle now (up from $24.95), so shipping is free for all!

Kindle Accessories / M-Edge Prodigy with e-Luminator light question
« on: January 24, 2010, 11:48:56 pm »
Can someone please tell me where the e-Luminator light ends up in the stored position in a M-Edge Prodigy cover?  I've tried finding pictures online; it seems that sometimes the arm/light goes down the side of the Kindle, but in other pictures it goes across the top.  Has there been a change in the placement, and if so, which is the current model?  Thanks!

(I have the e-Luminator2, if it makes a difference.)
