I'm just going to quietly slip in and say that I haven't gotten any sales yet either...I'm only at 8 for this novel in its debut month, so I am trying to keep my hopes from going one way or the other.

There is some small comfort in knowing that it's not just me.

Well, at this time (1/20/14  6:54 pm EST) I have at least 35 projects lined up and I have the beginnings of maybe another ten in my head.  So...yeah, I'm going to be busy for a while.

I've finished the first novel and I am now trying to wrack my brain trying to get the word out there.  I've tried Facebook ads and Project Wonderful but I haven't noticed any huge effects.  Does anyone else out there have any suggestions?

Well, they didn't have volume 2 of Irredeemable, but I did get a couple of books on photography (might start making some of my own covers) and got a tripod for the camera.

That's it.  I swear.  Stop looking at me like that.  I can quit when I want!

There are a few shops still around that have a minimum purchase amount before you can use debit, probably to offset that fee.

They shouldn't be doing that.  I know that's a violation of the contract with the company I work for, and I'm sure that's an industry-wide standard.  If their fees are that high...maybe they should look into another processor? 

I could write as long as I had pencil and paper -- good luck in reading any of it.  I used to buy spiral notebooks and write stories in them turned around because I am a wicked, wicked southpaw.  I still buy little notebooks to write down notes.  My printing is neat, and my cursive can be read by some people.  I print my notes because I have a deal with a friend of mine that she gets my notes when I die (this water tastes funny...).

Ever since I got my first typewriter, I haven't really hand written rough drafts.  When I got my first PC back in the mid 90's, I have not looked back.  I don't think I could be as productive as I am now... well, relatively speaking when it comes to productive.

You let one indie in, and the rest of the riff raff will be knocking on the door. Can't have that.  

I think I am going to start doing that.  Knock on my friends' doors when invited and say "Riff-raff, sir."

Would I be wrong in calling this "Necrobestiality"? 

...aaaand nothing.  But I know that January is going to be my month.  Already sold four in the first half of the month and I am hopefully on track to get another book out by the middle of the year.  I need to get back into the "write like a meth-addled badger" mode.

I do love starting a new project. And thats one of my biggest problems! So many unfinished things laying about the house. Another idea comes up and it gets me all excited so I HAVE to work on it.
(This  year I've resolved to get stuff finished and out in the world)

Amen, brother.  I have no problems starting, but I have problems with staying on one story long enough to finish it.  I hope it gets easier to do the more times I do it.
