I appreciate the advice but none of my documents had that.. it said "no matches.. and some end in AZW1 and some in AZW, some read Ebok and some have the EBSP.. I know what some of them are.. but I have a years worth of this stuff.. not sure of all the samples.. I keep thinking there has to be a better way.. I would love to just transfer it ALL over to the new Kindle but as someone pointed out that might lead to a big mess since the books would unreadable.. sigh.. it looks like a long night ahead

many of those are samples however.. stuff I still have not been able to get too.. I did download Calibre but have some problems figuring some of it out :).. all I want to do is transfer my samples to the new kindles but am not sure which files they are.. I can see the EBSP as Annalog so kindly pointed told to me but some say EBOK as well .. I also am not sure if I can do DOC files this way or if I have to re email them to myself.  the stuff I bought on amazon is easy enough.. I know my tan files and and MBP are book files.. so those I have deleted from my transfer file..

Legal.. is there a simple way to tell which ones are samples?? and backup and monthly download is a good idea.. will do that from here on out :)

yeah we do tend to support each others bad habits.. LOL.. look at it this way.. we are creating jobs and stimulating the economy.

Becca from Oberon told me sales were so good this year (thanks to places like this one) they actually called back a few employees they had to let go  a while back. because of it being so slow.. during the holidays.. see you are providing jobs

(I am a girl who CAN justify her shopping!)

Let's Talk Kindle! / Re: Kindle freezing?
« on: February 06, 2010, 03:21:22 pm »
sounds like it was still redinexing.. adding 50 books in that short of a time period.. it would not be caught up.. that would freeze it

Same here , as far as the experience.. called last week my K2 was dying a slow death.. I called them when I had finally had enough , it was taken 15 minutes to turn on and get to the home page.. when I asked if I was still under warranty they told me I was five days away.. he told me we could trouble shoot but was afraid it would take me out of the warranty by the time they figured it out so he said he was just going to send a new one , that was Friday, it will be here Monday.. they couldn't have been nicer or made it easier.

I did have one issue however, when I first called i got INDIA.. when did that happen?? I asked the man to transfer me back to the US said he could not but to keep calling until I got them.. I reached them on the second try but that was odd

the problem is I have over 1100 files.. I have copied them to my desktop and when I do show them by type I have the Ebok and the EBSP.. I know to delete the tan and the mpb files.. not sure what to do with the doc files.. it would take me forever to go through this.. I don't really need the screen shot per say I have two copies just in case in the hard drive.. but file by file is going to make me blind

and some file I am just not sure what they are since this is a years worth of stuff.. any suggestions are welcome!

Also some of them I am not sure if they are samples or not. because some are Ebok some are the other ones.. is there a clear way to tell??

LOL I still have K2 and K1 skins I have not even used.. so yes I am loving the accessories :)

I am hoping someone remembers how to do this...

My K2 is dying a slow death.. it is five days away from being a year old.. I called CS.. and explained the issue, they were worried if we trouble shoot it may take longer then the warranty so they are sending me a new one which I will have Monday. (you have to love the CS dept at kindle!)

Here is my question.. I had a K1 and I remember that I transfered all my samples to my K2 when I got it.. but it was so long ago I can't remember how

My current K2 has a TON of samples and I want to transfer it to the new machine... do I copy it from the doc folder and then paste and clip it to the new one.. how do I do that.. I remember it was very simple to do but I can't for the life of me remember how I did it.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks!!!!!

Love mine,  it is indeed a Silver/Gold and it is very elegant I really love mine and can't recommend it enough, any skin will go with it and its not overly shiney!

I like the mountain pine as well but you cant go wrong either way.. remember they are closed until the 11th so your shipping will be a slight delay :)

I got the  "lighter one" after my complaint on the board and I have to tell you I didn't see much difference at all, yours looks lighter then the light one I got.. I am going to call to make sure they shipped the right one but its still too dark for me

Kindle Accessories / Re: Question about Oberon cover..
« on: December 29, 2009, 04:41:03 pm »
for a K2, corners and they dont offer the DX in velcro at Oberon.. also the silicone does NOT fit within an oberon case..

I agree,, my favorites are the hands down along with the decalgirl skins.. not to mention a host of others that are not even on this list

Kindle Accessories / Re: Any experience with M-edge Platform or Flip?
« on: December 22, 2009, 01:28:45 am »
ah, okay thanks.. as far as the space.. I dont' use a light so I find it a pain on some of the cases, however as far as the platform goes its not an issue at all.. in fact it gives your hand something to grasp if needed

Kindle Accessories / Re: Love these new Medge cases how cute!
« on: December 22, 2009, 01:27:28 am »
I am still not a fan of the hinge.. I have read several people have cracked kindles with this concept.. I do remember however my amazon cover (which was sent back) had them and those hinges I had to WRESTLE.. Medge's does seem to be easier, but I like to read my Kindle without a cover sometimes.. however I admit the New Yorker case is worth this.. and its not nearly as tight (this is a good thing) as some of the others, it keeps it in place but you don't need the jaws of life to remove it
