Well its not just the little jewel thing.. I can live without the decor of it .. but it just doesn't move the toggle right.. (maybe that's part of the jewel issue). When I read one man thinned his out himself I can only see me screwing that up.

It just seems like alot to  remove to put a kindle in. I don't want to work that hard.

As I said its not a poorly made product, the fit is good and it was thought out but the pieces seem extreme to me.  I don't want assemble a case.. I want to put it in.. maybe latch it here and there and go

Maybe I am the exception but I hate this case and am disappointed it didn't work out. (before you ask.. yes I read the entire guide)

First of all it does have a nice fit however that is the only thing that makese sense.. If you love puzzles or assembly this is the case for you. However I have never been good at either.

The case has six sliders that are curved in various ways that need to come off totally to put your Kindle in it.. then you have to place the kindle in the case and put the six sliders back in various orders and flip it around (make sure you don't miss a spot or the Kindle can fall out) This little process took over 25 minutes. YOu need good eyesight because you have to line it up with the little grooves and trust me clear on clear is not easy to see.  Two pieces or maybe three.. but six not including the two piece case.. so including the sliders, the case and the jewel thingie (two pieces) you have 10 pieces in the case!

then lets talk about the joystick.. the jewels kept falling off, one man had a review where he had a fix.. something about making the plastic thinner by shaving it down (yeah not going to be doing that). I am not a handy type of girl so this was not going to be on my radar.

The jewels kept falling off and the menu kept going to some other place the joystick wouldn't go where it needed too and I ended up almost deleting some of my collection files (it kept asking if I wanted to delete it)  (we know how long THOSE took to do)


The look is nice.. and I didn't need a waterproof, like the guardian.  I wanted something clear and lighter weight and easy to use but to remove six pieces seems extreme.. also the little plugs kept popping out.  I am hoping they will pay for the return shipping.. not because of the pieces but because of that joystick.

Again this may work for some of you and you many love it.. several good reviews, but this is just my take and I wanted to share. I was really lookingg forward to this purchase.. can't tell you how sorry I am that it didnt work out.

how cute.. Love the pirate one and the one with the girl... they are kind of spread out so searching for them you see more.. very cute!! and reasonable

Im curious though.. doesn't that on off thing drive you crazy.. I read alot but get sidetracked sometimes so when I get back its in sleep mode.. the opening and reclose seems like a hassle.. I am not a camper (unless you count the limited room service menu at the Marriott after midnight) so it maybe more case then needed for someone like me... I am hoping that poor womans case was just a fluke..

she DID update though that she did not send her Kindle to medge.. she was able to finally pry it off with the  stick that comes with the compressed air can.. I am so glad she at least has the kindle intact.. Medge has a good reputation I cant imagine the wouldn't replace it for her.

I find it very stable.. it has a cord in the back you can adjust.. I bought a keyboard for mine and returned it..

I have no problem typing in the oberon case because of the leather thickness it gives it a nice stand.. not sure if you have seen the Oberon website video on the Ipad cases.. but they made a few improvements.. I really love it.

IT is best to type horizonal on it though.. I have  had it at several meetings propped up on itself or standing with the legal notepad app to take general notes and its worked great. Also fine for my word processer app and email

Im not runing scared at all.. I decided this case was not for me before this post.. the on off switch and lack of access I would find to be an issue.. thankfully you have had no issues with yours.. that is good to know

I too have the Black Roses.. I was inspired by Luv4Brats.. and I have it on my Ipad.. it is gorgeous at that size.. I am thrilled with mine as well!!!!

It stands very well.. check out the video on the website that shows you how it works and I like it better then the Medge I had because I can adjust the stand width.. the Medge platform for my Ipad was hit or miss.. and its GORGEOUS.. I have had several people stop and ask me about it

It does function the way the apple does.. not sure exactly what you mean..I hated my apple case.. but the oberon does the stand up.. etc.. again can you give me more details maybe I can give you a better response
