Let's Talk Kindle! / Re: How Can I Tell???
« on: September 30, 2012, 11:29:31 am »

Thanks so much!

My original K2 is starting to get 'sick' after 3+ years of constant use and although I've changed out the battery a couple of times- it's getting a bit 'glitchy'.
DH has 'suggested' that I invest in a new one and keep Eppie for local use.
He doesn't want me going hyper on our cruise next week- and maybe stealing his!!

Let's Talk Kindle! / How Can I Tell???
« on: September 30, 2012, 07:08:45 am »

I just ordered a Kindle Keyboard (formerly Kindle 3) and I know that there's a way to tell if the unit that I receive is refurbished or not.
Could someone in the know take pity on me and let me know what to look for when my eagerly awaited new member of the family arrives?

Thanks so much for your help!!

Thanks so much!

Here are the links to the purple one that I use every day. The blue one has never been used.

Hope you enjoy them!

This is the Ocean Blue Noreve (this is the K2 size):

This is the Decal Girl skin that I have on my K2 (customized by them):

I'll try to post a picture of my K2 with my purple Noreve on.

Because I think that it's a book that begs you to stand up and get involved.

Blue please- and thanks so much for starting the New Year off right!!

DH and I have had our K2s since summer 2009.
While I like the display on the K3, I like the feel of my K2 with it's custom DecalGirl Skin and Noreve cover. And my DH feels the same way about his.

Of course we're hoping that by the time the batteries need to be replaced, that Amazon is still going to have the new ones!!

Thanks so much!

Between my custom Decal Girl skin and my purple Noreve- I just haven't done the switching off that I anticipated!
I also have a Oberon ROH- so my Ocean Blue is a bit neglected!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for an adoption, and if not it will wait in the wings...

If you click on the picture, you'll be able to see all 7 pictures and blow them up for more details.

Thanks for looking.......

I meant to do that last night, but DH got wrapped around the axle, and we ran errands this morning.
He's washing the car now, and when he gets in from that- we'll get those pictures up and linked to the thread.

Thanks for reminding me!

Yes it is.
As it's only been used once- it's in brand new condition.
My DH used it once to decide if it was the type of cover that he would like.
He wanted a black one.

I have a purple one, and it never comes off of my Kindle- so I'm not switching covers like I thought I would.
So if it doesn't sell- I'll hold onto it in case my Noreve bites the dust.

If I can share the love- that's even better!

If you'd like to wait until I get home from work, I can post a link to a picture.
It's smooth leather, not suede.

Used once- I bought it as a backup for my original Noreve and it's only been out of it's box once.

I have the original box/shipping packaging and just priced it on the Noreve website. Their price is $85.14 including shipping.

I'm asking $60 including shipping... would prefer Amazon gift card but will accept non-cc PayPal also.
This is my first attempt at selling, so bear with me.

Thanks in advance for looking- Please post here to express interest and send a PM with information.

I use the Mighty Bright TravelFlex with my Noreves.  The one that a lot of people here use, the ExtraFlex, doesn't have the look I wanted, but the TravelFlex is slim and sleek in the spirit of the Noreve design.  It uses one AAA battery and the battery compartment is easy to open and close.  It's lightweight and balanced, so if my eyes were closed I wouldn't know it was attached to my Kindle.  Best of all, it illuminates the entire Kindle with no glare, hot spots, or fall-off.  For storage I bend it in half and put it in a small hard-side zippered case along with extra batteries, a cleaning cloth, and the Kindle's charging cord.  I've been using it for four months and haven't found a single thing to complain about.

Mine is black because I like that best with the inside of the cover, but it also comes in silver and a few colors.

Here is a link:

Sorry I'm not including a photo.  I thought I knew how to do that but apparently I don't!

Thanks so much for the link! I've been trying to find a light that would be compatible with my Noreve- and I think you found it!

Mr. Rebates is doing a 4% rebate....
I'd be happy to refer anyone!

I'm in the process of reading "Meta Game" and will be moving on to the Sookie Stackhouse series when I finish it.

I can't wait to go out to my screened porch, read and enjoy the pond in the back of the house.......

Of course Eponine is going with me to NYC next Sunday- so that will delay the lazing around for a week or so.

As for which of the Borsa Bella bags I'd like..... I can't choose right now! All of her things are lovely, and Hubby's Albus is carried around in one of her bags too! I convinced him that he HAD to have a 'Man Bag", and he uses it all the time!

Take pity on a virgin..............

I've never hacked my Eponine, but have all sorts of beautiful screen savers to load into it.
I JUST received the 2.3.4 software update, and would love to see my very own screen savers on my companion.

Is there anyone who would be willing to give me simple instructions on how to do the screen saver hack with the newer (not newest) software installed? I really want to be able to see them on my Eppie for the first time.

TIA, and please help!

The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker by Leanna Renee Hieber - $2.99.

I've had this on my wishlist for awhile - a gothic set in an alternate Victorian England with ghosts and mythological creatures.

I'm not sure what's going on over at Amazon- but I liked the synopsis for this book and bought it for $2.99 (I thought).
I just received the confirmation email from Amazon, and they applied a $1.51 'promo' so I only paid $1.48 for it......

What a deal!!

I've clicked on numerous links in this thread and have come up with a similar 'this page cannot be found' display from Amazon that refers me to the home page.

Does anyone know what's going on??

I did the Super Saver free shipping when I ordered both mine and DHs last summer, and they both arrived before they were supposed to. It totally blew us away- and we got to 'play' with them that much sooner!

Good luck on a early arrival!

Let's Talk Kindle! / Re: KindleBoards Anniversary Contest!
« on: November 15, 2009, 06:43:16 pm »

This is one of the books that got me hooked on reading. It's the store of a circus boy who gets involved with a local family and the influences that each visit on the other. I'd reread this numerous times and I'd look for it in each new school library. It was an old friend to me in new situations, and if it ever comes out on Kindle, I'd read it still. Thanks so much for the contest- it made me remember one of my favorite books!

I can't get the image to load for some reason though. The book is called 'Sawdust in His Shoes'.
I hope that the lack of the cover art doesn't disqualify me.......

Archives / Re: Want to trade Oberon charm
« on: August 10, 2009, 04:26:31 am »

I have a sleeping cat charm that I'd love to trade for a sun charm for my ROH....

I purchased a purple ROH for $55 and I saved about $25 by buying it here.
It's in great shape, and I'm happy that my seller wanted to part with it!

I added the cost of Oberon shipping to the total to get the true savings........

(I forgot to say that I didn't vote because I was a purchaser)
