My Kindle has updated itself to version 1.2.  Why me?  Not a clue.

Haven't tried any of the new sync commands, especially the "Sync and check for new items," because I'm afraid it will copy all my Kindle purchases from Amazon to my Kindle.  I like to keep the list on my Kindle to just 1 or 2 pages.

WolfePrincess, I'm sure he'll understand.  Oddly enough, I've read more DTBs since I got my Kindle than I did before (which was almost none).  With the Kindle I've rediscovered my love of reading.  I definitely prefer to read on my Kindle, but I don't hesitate to buy a paperback or check a book out from the library if I want to read something that isn't likely to be kindleized soon.  I figure it's all good. 

Central Florida, Lake Wales, home of the highest point in peninsular Florida, a whopping 300ish feet above sea level!  And home of the lovely singing Bok Tower.

I get 4 to 5 bars.  It's a 1x connection, not EVDO, but my books arrive in less than a minute.

Disappointed to hear The Whiskey Rebels isn't good.

Oh gosh, Linda, please don't put too much stock in my opinion.  You might love The Whiskey Rebels.  I should tread a little more lightly.

Yup, as a matter of fact, that was a major selling point.     I'm 45 and my eyes can't seem to decide if they're nearsighted or farsighted.

I love my subscription. I did the trial, never thinking I would subscribe but I did and I am hooked.

I'm fine with locations.  When you think about it, page numbers in regular books will vary depending on the edition (hardcover, paperback, large print), so they're not all that precise or relevant anyway.  For page numbers to mean anything, everyone must use the same edition of the book.  Ditto for locations when there are different versions of the same Kindle book.  Locations, page numbers, whatever...they're all just ways of telling how far along you are.

When I read the first few books on my Kindle, I checked Amazon for the number of pages in the corresponding regular book so I could get an idea of how the location numbers corresponded to the length of the books.

Now I think more in terms of locations.  For example, if a book hasn't hooked me by location 1500, I usually give up on it.   

Then again, I'm a geek.

Vegas_Asian, that's wonderful you have a dog park to go to.  I miss the dog parks I visited when I lived in the SF Bay area.  There's one right on the bay in Richmond.  It's huge and there are hundreds of dogs there on weekends.  It's a joy to see all the dogs having so much fun, and the water dogs are particularly spectacular as they retrieve and play in the bay.

But here in Florida I have a couple acres and 3 dogs now, so I kinda have my own dog park.  Several of the neighborhood dogs come over to play.  It's a riot.   

Has anyone tried Timothy's World Coffee, Midnight Magic, Extra Bold?

Leslie, yes, it's delicious, very dark and rich and flavorful.  Even better IMHO is Timothy's Extra Bold Rainforest Espresso, which is not even close to espresso strength but is bold and delicious.  Neither are bitter, just dark and rich.

I definitely will order a box of the hot chocolate.

Linda, there are also white cocoa K-cups.  I've never tried them, but they sound intriguing!

New Keurig owners, there are scores of K-cup varieties out there:  Light, medium, and dark roasts, mild and extra bold, the whole spectrum.  It's so much fun to explore them.  You can buy 1 K-cup at a time at http://www.bettercoffee.com, and you can buy sample packs of 5 K-cups at http://www.keurig.com.  The samples are pricey but certainly more economical than getting a whole box and finding out you don't care for it.

Wow, Dori, that was fast!  You're going to have so much fun sampling the different K-cups.  Be sure to keep us posted on the taste-testing.

I can't even comprehend why any company would make yet another book reader without wireless.

I'll admit that I spent about a week deciding between the Sony and the Kindle, thinking the wireless was probably frivolous.  But I decided to spring for the top of the line, which in my mind was the Kindle.

Now that I have the Kindle, I see how valuable the wireless is.  If Amazon ever has enough Kindle inventory to need advertising, they should just give some people a Sony for a week and then a Kindle for a week (both with a few newspaper subscriptions and an account with some money to buy ebooks), then see what they say.  I simply can't imagine preferring the Sony.
