Count me in too!  I lost 17 pounds with weight watchers a year or so ago...but have put about 10 back on...and want it gone!!  I was thinking about how nice it would be to read my Kindle while on the treadmill...Maybe if exercise = more Kindle time I will be more motivated.

Good morning from Jacksonville!  48 degrees...and only supposed to go to 55 today...brrr!   ;)

Much to do today...so I'm trying to be good and get to work...but I was reading the 6th Southern Vampire Mysteries book at breakfast and it is so hard to put down.  Must be disciplined...must get work done...must be good.  This will have to be my mantra today.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!

Diana Gabaldon
Christopher Moore
Charlaine Harris
Patricia Cornwell
Nora Roberts
Stephen King

I'm sure there are more...

I love seeing everyone's lists.  Sometimes I get caught in a rut and seem to only read things by authors I'm familiar with...now I have some great ideas for new authors to try!

Good morning from North Florida...51 and sunny here.  I had to be at the hospital at 6:30am with one of my church members...so I'm getting ready for my 2nd cup of coffee so I won't be tempted to sneak back to bed.

Leslie, so glad your daughter made it home safe and sound!

I wonder if it was book 6 - Definitely Dead.

I have just started that one this weekend and have noticed the same thing.  Let me know what you find out...

Thanks!

Good morning/afternoon...

Rainy and getting colder here in Jacksonville.  My Kindle and I worked hard doing 3 worship services this morning, and now I'm taking a quick break before I have to drive my daughter back to college (thankfully only 45 minutes away).

Mostly I wish I could curl up with my Kindle (Brigit) and start the 6th Southern Vampire Mysteries book I just downloaded...but I still have to do youth drama practice and youth group before Kindle time.

Leslie, I have teen girls too...16 and 18...I can completely understand where you are today!!

Good morning!

Well, it is 12:04am...so it's morning now.  I'm back in Jacksonville and trying to settle in.  Guess I should go to sleep at some point...

We did venture out to the mall in the afternoon just to see what things were like...and I was really surprised at how empty it was.  There were people...but not tons...and no one was really carrying too many bags.  We didn't buy anything (other than Starbucks).  Doesn't look too good for stores this year other than maybe Walmart.

Hey there!  About 72 degrees here in South Florida...going up to 80.  I'm surrounded by my family and loving life!  We may even brave the mall later...just for kicks.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!   ;D

Every time I read Outlander, I'm surprised at how good it is.  I've got it on my Kindle, but I'm trying to hold off reading it until we start in January.  It's almost as bad as trying to wait for Christmas to come.

LOL  I know exactly how you feel!  I ordered Outlander so it would be there when I turned on my Kindle the very first time...just because I knew I wanted it to be there.  Now I am so excited about reading it again...and on my Kindle!!  But yes, I will wait until January to start...   :-\

I have never led a book club....or been in one for that matter....but in the brief amount I research I've done, I have learned that the other participants aren't allowed to kill the leader with a stick.  So, sure, I'd be glad to try leading a Vampire book club.

Doesn't the new Sookie book come out soon?  Or has just come out?  I do realize that was a very poorly constructed question.  But I digress.  That might be a good book to do.

I'm in the this one too!  I will have to figure out how to give up sleep so I have time to read on my Kindle, be in both book clubs (this one & Outlander), have time to hang here on the boards, and actually do some "real work"!   ;)  But it's worth it...it's just so much fun here...

As the first designated leader, I want to thank you for those guidelines.   :-\

I'm thinking that I'll post info on Outlander (historical fiction/romance/time travel) on Monday, January 5, to give people who haven't read the book time to decide if they want to, plus one minute to download.  Then everyone will have a week to read the first five chapters.  Discussion questions will be posted January 12.

Does that work for everyone?

I'm in!  I've read Outlander many times...and would love to be a part of the group!!  It's always so good to read it again.   :D

I'm 40 and a Taurus...stubborn, they say.   ::)

Seems weird to be 40...my oldest daughter just started college this fall, but I can remember college like it was just yesterday!!

Showed my pastor my bible on Kindle.   Woo Hoo Hoo now during church he will think I am following along.   May be and may be reading a novel. ;)

Dori...I'm a pastor and I use my Kindle to preach from...I just email my sermon to it.  I can see now that it would be dangerous if everyone in my congregation had a Kindle...I'd never know if they were listening or reading some novel!   ;)

Writer's Block makes several varietals of varying quality.  Which one are you touting?

It's been a little while since I've had it, but I believe this is it...(Since becoming familiar with one-click ordering on my Kindle I've had to save money and just drink $6 Lindemann's Merlot and Cabernet!)   :-\

 Writers Block Cabernet Franc
Category: RED
Vintage: 2004
Title: Writers Block Cabernet Franc
Producer: Steele Wines
Grapes:  Cabernet Franc - Shiraz/Syrah - Merlot
Country: USA
Region: CA:North Coast
Subregion: Lake County
Vineyard: Silva
Taste Profile: Big & Bold, Burly
Tasting Notes: Raisin, Fruitcake, Blueberry
Score: 86 [QV]
Description: 80% Cabernet Franc, 12% Syrah, 6% Merlot, and 2% Zinfandel. North of Napa County and east of Sonoma and Mendocino counties, Lake County's 8,500 acres of vineyard border three of California's most influential viticultural regions. In the early 1900s, Lake County had more than 7,000 acres of grapes and 36 wineries, more than Napa and Sonoma counties combined. This wine is a lush, earthy, and viscous wine that is rounded out and made more fruit forward and approachable with the addition of Syrah, Zinfandel, and Merlot varietals. There is a nice background of wood tannins and anise that make the wine very dark in aroma and flavor. In all this concentrated, complex, and deep character wine would be a great compliment to smoked meats, gamey meat dishes, and herb-roasted vegetables.

I want one!!! However AT&T can't carry it.

I was green with envy when the iphone came out only on AT&T - but couldn't bring myself to switch from Verizon.

So far I like it...the pictures are crystal clear, the sound with my bluetooth is excellent on calls, and the music plays well.  The touch screen and the touch keyboard take some getting used to, but I am getting the hang of it.

sounds good....now if I can just find a bottle....

That's it!  I got it at a small wine shop near me.  It wasn't too expensive...but more than I usually spend...so I just get it as a treat sometimes.

We're going to my parents' house...4 of us and my sister and her family will all be there.  My mom is an awesome cook and will do much of it, but my daughters insist I make my stuffing (cornbread stuffing with almonds and fresh cranberries) and a sweet potato casserole.  I haven't seen everyone for awhile and can't wait to show of my new Kindle!

Anyone else have the new Blackberry Storm?  I got one this weekend and am still figuring it all out...but so far one really cool bonus is how easy it is to get to the Kindle Boards on the browser!  Although...as much as the boards are already tempting me away from work...this could be truly dangerous!!  :-\
