Try this one Luv...

Let me know if it doesn't line up and I can make adjustments. I couldn't find a large image to work from, so this is blown up quite a bit which affected the quality. Not much I could do about that, sorry!

That's awesome NiLuJe... I've never tried this one, but I will now! =)

Just got mine! Got the Celtic hounds in wine w/out wool.  Its really really nice, the leather is great and I love how detailed the pattern is.  These aren't the most amazing pics but im tired and this is what I could do tonight.

What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Those pics are beautiful as is your new Oberon! Nice custom screensaver too...

Its sad how many of the older post contents have been removed by Photobucket.

They weren't removed, it was just that my collection was getting so huge (3,000+) that having them all in one folder made them very difficult to browse, especially if you were looking for something specific. So a few months back, I organized them into 28 folders which broke all the existing links. I posted apologies, but I know the old posts look terrible. Really sorry!

P.S. You can use the links in my sig to view them all.

I need help.  I have tried to get the screensaver hack to work on my kindle, but  I can't do it.  I got to the point of updating kindle and I did that and disconnected from my PC, but I have no new screensaver on my kindle.  Can anyone help me.  Please.

Did you use the instructions here?

If not, I would try again with those instructions. If you did use that page, then you should repost your question in this thread:,33973.0.html

Try to be as specific as possible about what version Kindle you are using, what version of the hack you are using, any error messages that show up, etc.

That's great! Glad it worked out okay... =)

I just started Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Steig. I am only about 2% in but I really hope it gets better. This is the first book in a long time I actually feel asleep 7 o'clock at night.  :-\

That's how I'm feeling right now about Grisham's newest The Confession! I'm about 25% in and still pretty bored. I loved his early work, but haven't bothered with any of his for a few years. Now I think I know why... =(

I just got a new DecalGirl skin and was wondering if anyone could make me or direct me to a screensaver...  The skin is Shanshui

Thanks in Advance!!

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a very large image to work from, so this one had to be blown up quite a bit, which seriously degrades the quality. Let me know how it turns out, and also if it lines up or not. I can make adjustments if the alignment is off.

P.S. There is one way I could make a much higher quality image, and that would be by buying a membership to his site so I can download a high res version. The cheapest membership is 90 days for $15. So if it means that much to you, send me a PM. ;)

Well, that sort of turned into a defensive rant, didn't it...if you want more defensive rants visit my blog at ......... :)

Ha! :D

Haha... sorry Misty! I really like this Medici K3 cover a lot more than my K2 cover. For some reason it just seems lighter and more flexible. I was really surprised at how flat I was able to get it.

I posted these in another thread someone started asking how well Oberons will break in and lay flat... this is my month-old Medici K3 cover in chocolate. I have spent probably about an hour total with the Kindle removed from the cover along with both of the stiffeners, just kneading, rolling and folding the Oberon every which way trying to loosen it up a bit. It now lays pretty darn flat. The bottom right corner is a bit buckled and lifted due to that strap being a bit overtight in my opinion. Not a huge deal though.

I also included a picture of the closed cover showing that the spine has no significant crease despite it laying so flat. I'm very impressed with the performance of this leather.

I installed Appbrain on my phone and it keeps telling me I need to be signed in.  I can't figure out where to sign in.  I'm signed in on my mac computer.

Here's some info from the following page:

Here is how it works:

    * Select the apps you would like to have on this website.
    * Then start the AppBrain App Market app on your phone
    * Go to "Manage My Apps", and sign in there too and press the button to Sync
    * It will then sync and allow you to install the apps you selected earlier on the webpage

New! It's now also possible to install apps directly with one click from the web. View the Fast Web Installer page for more information.

Yeah, I got an "anonymous" tip earlier this week about a possible workaround for that. I may try to install Swype or something in a few days to see if it works. After reading this entire thread today and reliving the frustration you guys all went through this summer waiting for your 2.2 update, I'm determined not to do that myself. I am looking forward to the upgrade, but won't hold my breath! =)

Still really having a good time finding apps and customizing my Aria. I'm sure it'll come as no surprise that I've started creating wallpapers for it too! ;D  If any of you are using some of the smaller screen or lower res Android phones with 320x480 screen res, check out my 640x480 wallpaper images at ...

I saw that Claw used an Appbrain link on the previous page, but after just reading through this whole 17-page thread, that was the only mention I saw for Appbrain. I highly recommend it. It's basically a market browsing app, but it adds some nice functionality for those of us who like to browse apps on their computers. If you register on and then download the appbrain app and the fast web downloader app, you can then browse and when you find an app you want, click Install right there on the web page and it will send the app to your phone and install it for you. Very nice... pretty much like shopping for Kindle books! ;)

If that was too convoluted for you guys, check out this lifehacker article which probably explains it better.

I LOVE this phone! I hadn't gotten a smart phone before for two reasons, one was the $30/month premium for the required data plan, and two was that every smart phone seemed to be the size of a small briefcase. Well, AT&T has now introduced a lower priced data option for smart phones, $15/month for 200mb. As for size, this Aria is almost exactly the same size as my old RAZR 2, which is very compact. It even fits in the old generic leather vertical holster I've used for the last 5 years.

I'm already quite busy customizing my phone. It's running 2.1, although 2.2 is supposedly coming soon as there is already a leaked version of the official ROM for it. I can't install non-market apps, which is a bummer. No Swype for me. =(

I am using LauncherPro, which is a free download and allows a ton of customization options. You can choose between 1 and 7 home screens, you can even specify how many rows and columns of icons/widgets you want displayed on your home screens. You can remove the text labels from icons, etc. etc.

I'm going to go back and read through this thread from the beginning now that I have more of a vested interest. ;D

Kindle Accessories / Re: How well will an Oberon ultimately break in?

Here are some pics of my 1-month old Medici cover. I have spent maybe an hour or two kneading it, rolling it, and folding it every which way to try and break it in. It folds almost completely flat now.

Sorry for the large images, I took them on my phone at work and uploaded them here, so I don't have a quick & convenient way to crop and resize them.

Corky, I'd call Oberon and ask for a replacement. Your strap shouldn't touch the arrow keys.

Really Corky? I'm surprised, did you maybe get a very early K3 cover? Mine doesn't interfere in the least with the buttons on either side.

Frizico, the corners DID bother me on my old white Kindle, but they don't bother me at all with my graphite Kindle 3 (which is what it looks like you have based on your avatar). The corners blend right in with the darker Kindle.

Just started this.Used to read a lot of Stephen King, but never got around to this series.

Please post your thoughts... I read everything King wrote up through about Dolores Claiborne and haven't read anything from him since. I have the Dark Tower series on my Kindle just because I figured some day I'd try to get around to reading it, but I just haven't yet. I'll be curious what your impressions are.

I don't think the new one is "bad" by any means, but your old cover was fantastic! This one is probably going to garner more interest from the trendy lit crowd though. =)

Looks like it's doing really well so far. #537 as I type this. I'm not sure I like the newer cover better though. Think I like the old one more. Congrats on the success and hope it continues.

Agreed, I liked the old cover MUCH better! But still, congrats!!!

I'll agree with the others who've mentioned Narnia and The Borrowers, but I think my favorite has to be:

Loved the whole series!
