Jeff also posted a picture on his Facebook page of his arrival at home from the hospital...

It's pretty amazing growth. When I registered in August, 2009, there were about four thousand members. A few weeks later, it was a big deal when we got the 5,000th member.

You are Member #5138. (Hover the cursor over your user name and look at the URL at the bottom of your browser window.

Member #5000 was Nufa who joined July 29, 2009.

Nice job!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right Kimberly. That definitely isn't what my Kindle app looks like. Well, when I downgraded to an older version of the app, it looks like that, but no big deal.

33
This is what is on my rooted/modded Nook Color running 2.3.7

Kimberly, do the books display correctly on your Nook Color in the Kindle app? I had to downgrade to the 2.5 (I think) version because the 3.0+ versions would only display about 2 paragraphs on the screen. Huge spaces between each line and gigantic margins that couldn't be changed. Of course, I'm also running ICS (Android 4.0.4) on my Nook Color, so that may be part of the problem.

Praise the Lord! Agency pricing has been the worst thing to happen to eBooks since I started buying them.

I used to post a ton here, probably too much for many members... but had a pretty rough 2011 and didn't spend a lot of time online. I have definitely been in lurk-mode for most of the past year at least. I find it funny that the first time I come back and actually start browsing (as opposed to viewing replies to my posts) I see this thread at the top of the first page.

KB is awesome!

***EDIT***
After browsing for a few minutes, I can see at least one aspect of the boards that may be turning people away and that is the plethora of erotica book covers and risque profile pics. Wow. Just started reading the thread about Battle Royale vs The Hunger Games and on the first page saw links to books about golden showers and gangbangs.

Sad.

Ann, if you're referring to the wireless tethering feature on the phone, yes that can be turned on/off as needed.

Claw, have you considered using an alternate "Launcher" app to go back to 7 screens? I use ADW EX (http://bit.ly/GNQ2Ic) which is really nice, but there are several alternatives.

LOVED this book... totally outside of my usual genre choice. Interesting how the opinions on this one are pretty much love or hate. There's not a lot of middle-ground.

What happened to this book Ryan? It's no longer available...

Amazon Wireless is a reseller for Verizon and the other cellular providers. They will handle everything for you just as if you were dealing directly with Verizon. You will more than likely still pay the same activation fees, but it will probably just be on your next bill.

Thanks Geoff! =)

As to the ever strengthening tablet rumors from Amazon, there's a whole thread about that in LTK. :)

Sorry, thought we were 'keeping all the neat Android stuff in one place'.

Hands-on with the upcoming Amazon Tablet running on a highly-modified version of Android.

Nice NYC... I love my CM7 Nook! =)

How cool is that?!

So... uh, Claw... got any Nook accessories you no longer need? ;D

I've been thinking about this skin since you posted this way back in October, Heather!  I finally bought it for my Nook Color.  It comes with a COLOR wallpaper to complete the image, and I am absolutely thrilled with it.  I'm on my way out of town right now, but I'll have to take a picture when I get back.  Thanks for posting about it!

Looking forward to the pics of your Nook Color with the skin/wallpaper combo.

I use a paid app called Extended Controls (there are tons of free alternatives) to place a widget on my home screen with toggle switches for several of the battery eating functions of my phone. This is an old screenshot, but you can see it along the bottom of the screen. I currently have a power button, brightness button (each click raises brightness 20%), wi-fi toggle, wi-fi hotspot toggle, GPS toggle and vibrate.

48
Nog, your customizer page is SO cool! Great job on that!

P.S. If you ever need more images to add to the collection, help yourself to anything on my Photobucket. I have a lot of boilerplate/ex-libris images that would work well for that.

That's a great collection GoldMann!

Don't know why the frame got cut off by Amazon on the right and bottom the first time around but it's fixed now... excellent read, by the way. Very touching.
