Hi Everyone,
I received the following link from a marketing site that I did not know I had signed up with.  They offered a complimentary copy of Guy Kawasaki's APE which is a $9.99 ebook on self-publishing.  It is supposed to be an excellent resource for authors.

I was able to download the book for free.  Several of my friends were able to, as well.  Perhaps you can, too.  This is possibly limited to those who have a US account, but I am not sure.  Here is what the email sent to me said:

Get Your Complimentary Copy of APE!
Get your copy before the offer expires Jan. 31. To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the publication of Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur: How to Publish a Book, Guy Kawasaki is having a giveaway. Redeem the offer for this must-have self-publishing resource here:

I hope that you are able to download it as well.

Fire Talk / Collections for Kindle Fire
« on: October 14, 2013, 05:20:03 pm »
I have a Kindle Fire, Full Color 7" Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi.  I purchased an app called Collections for Kindle Fire which worked really nicely for a couple of months.  Then one day I opened the app and all my books disappeared from their categories.  All that was left were two categories, All Books, and Uncategorized.  I was quite surprised and tried to find help for my problem.  I contacted the company that made it and received no response.

So I decided to start from scratch and re-categorize the books again.  I created a new category called Facebook and thought that I would organize it with this term, since these are the books I wanted to read first.  I created the category, and then attempted to move or copy the books into that category.  The Facebook category exists on the bookshelf.  Then I tried to copy or move the books to the Facebook category, but it did not show up as a category name available to move the books to.  Since I could see that the category Facebook appeared on the wooden bookshelf, I felt that creating a new category named Facebook, might create a big problem.

Does anyone have a manual for this app, FAQs, help forum, or someone that knows what's going on with this product?  I feel kind of abandoned.

Tips, Tricks, and Troubleshooting (Kindle) / Too Many eBooks
« on: February 22, 2013, 02:20:08 am »

I have too many ebooks on my Kindle.  Is there a way to remove or hide the books so that they are not deleted, so that I have access to them at a later time, but so that they do not take up my Kindle bookshelf?

I have a Kindle Fire 7

Also, I seem to have to re-charge my Kindle everyday, if I read for an hour, or so.  What am I doing wrong?  I thought that I was supposed to get 8 hours out of this thing.  I purchased it in July 12.

Thanks for your help.

Not Quite Kindle / Which Facebook App
« on: February 06, 2013, 01:46:07 am »
Hi Everyone,

I had a Facebook app about a month ago, that automatically took posts from my website and placed them on my Facebook business page.  That app, the name of which I cannot remember, has disappeared from my app list on FB.

Do you know of any apps that automatically place your website posts on your FB page?  I think that it used an xml feed or some other feed.

Thank you

I was watching the X-Factor.  Carly Rose Sonenclar was singing and I was involuntarily singing with her, and I remembered that if I could be anything that I can't be, I would be an incredible singer that performed around the world.

I'm betting that many wish that they could do something that they truly can't do.  What's your wish?

This is my first Kindle book.  Ready to push the publish button.  Wanted to know if I can start my pricing at $.99 and then switch it, whenever I want to, to $2.99, without a problem.  Or do I have to choose one royalty structure and stick with it?

If I were to choose $2.99, and wanted to discount the book, for say 1 month, to $.99 could I do that?  I would rather the book said $2.99, and you are saving $2.00.

Thank you   :)
