I wish I could, actually. I think I got very lucky with my first attempt at self-publishing. Frankly I have been told that pretty much everything I've done is wrong, so I certainly don't want to advise people to do what I did. I've done virtually no marketing. I invested, I think, about $50 overall in google, facebook and goodreads ads, but none of them did anything and I shut them down real quick. My daughter has done a good job of putting photos and links on social media sites like Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr. I haven't done anything on them but she's been real helpful.

At the risk of sounding trite, I will say that the reviews of Warrior have been very complimentary about the story, the characters, the quality of editing and the world building. I worked hard on all of those, and I hope that I managed to produce a story that is fun to read. I hope that a good bit of my sales have come from referrals. I know that some of my reviews say "this book was referred to me..." Since I've done little to market it, I think that's been a big part of what little success I've had so far. And I have no idea when the ride will be over. Every day it starts at zero sales again and I agonize over getting any sales at all. I am always surprised and grateful when the reports on Amazon show any sale. I view every one of them as a person that is sharing my story, and that alone really makes my day.
