I'm having a small celebration (sitting with my netbook in Starbucks with a soya latte) because Killing Cupid has now sold 1000 copies this month!

Nearly all of those sales were in the UK. Last month it sold 547 and the month before 113. So am very happy. And the BAFTA-winning film producer who wants to option it just emailed to promise she will make an offer imminently (though she has said that before!)

Raises soya latte to toast self...  :)

Fantastic. I hope you can get some traction in the US, too, as you continue to enjoy success in the UK. My advice about the option would be to find an agent as soon as the offer comes in. This is one case where you don't want to be groping blindly.

Thanks everyone.

We would of course love an agent but finding one is easier said than done as I'm sure everyone on here knows! We used to have an agent but she retired, which wasn't very helpful.

My tips for selling in the UK? I've done loads of blogging and Facebook stuff, but sales only picked up when the book started to appear on 'also bought' bars. We are on the bar of several novels currently in the top 10, although the daily sales level has got stuck and I'm not sure what to do to give it another boost.
