I've recently had a few covers put together and one of them may replace my original undisclosed cover.

I would be interested in your opinions on both my existing one ( seen in my sig) and which of the three new ones grab your attention more? There are 3 covers and 1 that is a variation of another. Say what you like, say what you don't like. I just want to get some honest feedback from the community.

it's an "Aliens Among Us" Book for teens and adults.

Here is the blurb...

Living in Los Alamos, New Mexico, a small town already shrouded in secrecy, sixteen-year-old Travis Marshall's life spiraled out of control the day his brother was killed in an accident. One year later, he struggles to make sense of his brother's death, his father's expectations and his parents' divorce. When his father mysteriously goes missing and his own life is put in jeopardy, he discovers more than the truth behind the disappearance. In a race against time, aided by a group of teens with out-of-this-world power, he finds himself thrust into a dangerous, ancient, hidden war that threatens the fate of the world.

Thanks kindly, Jon

Book Cover #2 is the best design and I believe it has the most commercial appeal to the book buying demographics on KINDLE...as well as showing up well when reduced in size...a nice upgrade over your original cover! Good work!

I like the first one the best. 2 and 4 look like they fit the YA paranormal tropes better (and I'm assuming this isn't YA paranormal), and I can't really tell what's happening with all that blank space in #3.

I like your current cover too, though.

They're all pretty good.  I'd say 1 is my favorite, though. Has the most personality IMHO.
I like the first one best, although it might be cool to merge the lower part of it with your third version (to include the UFO), since your original cover has that as well. The cover with the girl somehow looks like a dark romance, or some kind of fairytale. If that isn't what you're aiming for, this might not be the best choice.  :-\

But that's only my opinion. In the end you'll have to choose the one you're most comfortable with. Good luck!

Hi, it's a SCI-FI/Aliens Among Us

Here's the blurb

Cover 1 is the one I'd consider reading. Others look to too much like a girl's teen novel
#1 or #4.
To me, the choice would depend on the gender of the protag. Male #1, female #4. ;D

EDIT: Just seen the blurb. I'd say #1, then.

Male
I agree that #3 has too much blank space, and it's hard to tell what the image is in the smaller version. I like the others.
For what it's worth, I like number four.  I like the tagline, even though it doesn't appear well in thumbnail.  I find the image to be really creepy, I'm not sure if that's the intent, but for better or worse it grabs my attention.

I like the third one, but I agree there is too much blank space, and the first one feels like a sic-fi novel, though it's striking, too.

Yeah #1 really stands out to me as well. My goal with all three was to try and convey the genre ( alien/teen book )

As a major part in the book is the eyes turning black. I focused on that in my original sig cover and in #1
In #2 I was going for more of the alien abduction, being lifted up
#3 was just another option.

I've been torn between #1 and #2 the most.
All are nice. #1 makes me want to read the book the most. It looks like a mass-market thriller, and that's a good thing!

Good job, sir!!!!
#1 is the best design, but I don't think it gives off the idea of YA. It looks like scifi/thriller for adults. For YA, I think #3 or #4 would do best. I really like the picture of #3 but there's a lot of blank space. Could you move him over so there's more of his body?
I'd go with #4.  #1 is cool, but it doesn't look YA at all. That's an older man on the cover. If it wasn't YA, then I'd say #1 is fine.
It's a tricky one isn't it ;)

On one hand you want to convey the genre and target audience clearly ( Aliens among us/X-files sort of thing and the audience YA. )

On the other hand you are left wondering which cover ultimately would grab people's attention more and drive up those sales ;)

Like what Lee Goldberg was saying. http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,23152.0.html The cover can make or break it

I like both #1 and #4.

I like #4, but there's no mention of her in the blurb, so I'm not sure how she rates cover treatment.
There is a scene where a girl is ripped upwards ( abduction ) though it was done more to convey the genre of Alien Abduction. ( Not sure how well it did it )
