35% royalty on a Select book?

481 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  intinst
I was just looking at my Prior Six Months' Royalties page, and I noticed that on 2/16 (right after I uploaded) I sold one copy at a 35% royalty. I thought that maybe because I bought a copy, they only paid 35% royalty on it? Whatever. I didn't worry about it too much.

However, I now see on March 2 I sold another copy at the 35% royalty.

The book is in Select. It has never been anywhere else.

Has anyone else ever seen this? Does anyone have words of wisdom on what might be going on here?

Sold to someone outside of the USA that still uses the .com site. Eg Australia or Ireland.
Oh, interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks.

2. Why are royalties displayed at a 35% rate in the sales report, when I had selected 70% royalty option for my book?

The 70% royalty option is only applicable for books sold to customers in certain countries. For sales to customers outside of the 70% territories, royalties are calculated at 35%, and these transactions appear at a 35% rate in the sales report. For sales to customers in Brazil, Japan, and India, the 70% royalty option is only available for titles enrolled in KDP Select.
