No thoughts on this?
Sorry for not being clear!Wingpeople said:I've read your post several times, plus looked at the FB page, and I'm still unclear on what your page will do for one of my books for $15. And I'm wondering how many authors/books would be part of the same "giveaway" at the same time as mine.
Too many unanswered questions to make a call on whether I'd be willing to pay $15. That does seem a bit steep, by the way, for a promotion on a page with ~1000 fans, but maybe the details of what you have in mind would cause me to change my mind.
Good question, Patty. On my Addicted to eBooks site, I feature books that are $5.99 or less. Let me think about the sponsorship thing, and see if I feel like it needs to stay in the same guidelines or not.Patty Jansen said:Sounds interesting. I like your site Victorine and would be happy to sponsor you for $15 (because, y'know, that's what it's about).
Since I'm now out of Select with everything, I can no longer (nor do I want to) do freebie days. My books are also in the higher price category, which make them unsuitable for some promo sites.
Is there a rule on price you've got to sell your book at? Thinking of a promo for my omnibus (in sig line).
OK. People do actually get about 300K worth of fiction for that price, so it's my way of discounting, rather than making the first book free, which I don't want to do.Victorine said:Good question, Patty. I haven't put a submission page up yet, I wasn't sure if it would be something anyone would be interested in. But if there's interest, I'll definitely put up a page. I'm hoping it will be a win/win situation.Becca Mills said:I'd be happy to try this out, Victorine. I like the idea of the $5 gift card giveaway coupled with the book info -- a nice association, low pressure. Maybe middle of January-ish? Do you have a submission page up?
I think $9.99 for 300K is definitely a great price. And since it's three novels, it would equal out to be less than $5.99 for each, so I'm thinking that would work. I think I'll change my submission guidelines to take omnibus submissions that are over $5.99, because that just makes sense.Patty Jansen said:OK. Sounds good to me. At my stage of things, it's all about trying a variety of things, hopefully reaching a few new readers with each effort or at least getting your cover in front of them for that first look.Victorine said:I haven't put a submission page up yet, I wasn't sure if it would be something anyone would be interested in. Yes - thanks for the additional information. And now that I understand what you're proposing, I WOULD be interested.Victorine said:Does this answer any questions you have?
Since I'm actually awake now, I can comment. I think a lot of people would be interested at that price to support a good site and possibly get some results. I'll fill out your form and order one.Victorine said:Okay, thanks guys!
Since there is interest in this, I have created a page for this. (It's newly created, so let me know if there are any bugs in it.)

You will need to create an account with my website to fill out the form, or log in if you already have an account.
Thanks! Happy New Year!
I received it and replied. I wasn't sure if you'd receive a reply though since sometimes website message systems don't handle replies.Victorine said:Thanks so much you guys!
I messaged those who bought ads - let me know if you didn't get the message. Sometimes I wonder if my messages go in spam folders when I use the website message system.
