Just a note on the CS2 higgledy piggledy this morning.

Anyone agree with me that giving away the CS2 suite would have been marketing genius? Especially InDesign? Perhaps with a CS6 upgrade discount and/or introductory Creative Cloud deal attached?

I think Adobe just missed out on a 35% stock price surge. Hope someone is reconsidering.

Adobe employs more than one marketing genius - it seems that not one of them agrees with you. The earlier versions of CS are still very functional packages. Giving them away does not seem to smack of genius to me.

That's too bad, since probably two to three million people visited their site today and were sent home disappointed. Wonder what could have happened if those people had all called someone and said "guess what Adobe's doing?"

Free put Microsoft in almost total control of the web for about 12 years.
