I've not heard that before. Are you sure you haven't written a different description in your Author Central.

Sometimes the descriptions on there are placed on your book page. ;)

That was my first thought, but from what I can see it's the same on Amazon UK and US, and usually only Amazon US gets updated from the Author Central. *ponder*

Was it edited for content, or... what, exactly?  I've never had them edit one of my descriptions.

What edits were made?  That's important, so please tell us.

I know that on their forums they have an automated system for some words, etc.  Not just dirty words, but offensive ones, and sometimes spammy ones. Spammers like to find new ways to sell their products, so if your description happened to mention the name of a certain drug staring and ending with an X, it's possible the system won't allow it.  (So if your story is about a character addicted to said drug, you may have to change the description to say "tranquilizers.")
