I kind of doubt it .... if so, they've been able to keep it awfully quiet. I've heard nary a peep ANYWHERE!

I expect there'll be new Alexa stuff and/or Alexa enabled devices -- not necessarily ereaders or tablets.

Check out Amazon's home page. There are new Echo devices and streaming things. None of it jumped out at me.

Yeah .... I saw that after I posted here. I'm not at all interested in anything Alexa/Echo. We have a 'smart' TV so don't need anything else to stream ... except of course subscribing to the various services.

It's all Echo/Alexa stuff. Amazon doesn't care about Kindle anymore. Just more incremental "upgrades" to make your screen look like degrees of newspaper that's been left outside in the sun all summer. Dull, cheap, plastic screens, poor contrast, no authentically paperwhite screens anymore. A damn shame. #TeamVoyage

I've been reading the last couple of books on my Paperwhite 3 and Paperwhite 4 and frankly I can't tell much difference.  Side by side they do look a little different but not much and different isn't worse.  It's just different.

I don't think the Paperwhite has degraded at all.  The screen is as good and it got a few new features.

Somehow I think with all the advances in technology we tend to judge products by change.  The Paperwhite does most of what I want it to do and it does it very well.  I would like to be able to access Dropbox from the Paperwhite to grab books from there but I don't really expect that and I don't really care that much.

That said, I really would like a little button, which when pressed, causes an inflatable recliner to pop out so I can read comfortably wherever I might be.  That would make quite an impression while waiting in the checkout line of the grocery store, too.  Come on, Amazon!!  When are you going to do it!
