Does anyone have any experience with Podium Publishing, or even heard from them?  I got an email from them today that sounded pretty good.  Sounds like they want to make an audio book of Learn Me Good without charging me anything.  I don't have all the details on rights, royalties, etc, but thought I'd check in here first to see if anyone else had gone that route.

Thanks in advance.

I have no experience with Podium, but creating an audio book via ACX doesn't cost anything either. They are owned by Amazon, so their system is integrated with .com.

On ACX you can hire a narrator/actor, set up your own contract and all of the other dodads associated with an audio book.

Something to ponder.

Yes, I believe there is a flat fee up front option, but I'm not sure how flexible it is.

I didn't use any of the standard ACX options, so I'm by no means an expert. I used the service to audition, publish and distribute audio books.

One side note - a lot of the auditions were computer generated voices. I've read where ACX will charge less for your book (they set the sales price) if you use a machine voice.

A google search doesn't turn up much of anything. I'd be concerned that this thread turns up on the first page of the Google search when you type the company name.  They don't even have a company website or blog?

I haven't heard of Podium Publishing doing anything in years, so I don't know if it is the same company. The only information I remember of it was that it was created by Brownie Wise, best known creating the marketing scheme that became the Tupperware parties.
