There is a way to force some characters onto a Kboards message: edit the message after you post it.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for diacritics. I tried a couple of posts with odd characters, but I guess the forum software doesn't play friendly with some UTF8 characters. (If you notice an odd post or two from me that disappears moments later, it's because I'm experimenting.)
