Here's what you do. You send him a link to the item, in this case a Kindle. And in the body of the e-mail you say: "Please, please, please may I have this for Christmas. I love you, I love you. I'll be your best friend." 
Well, it works for my husband. I did just this with a lovely bag from J'tote and a box from said company came today addressed to him. I have put it in the living room and will not speak of it again. . . . . . .
Now I think I get to reward myself for giving such a good hint with an Oberon cover; but which one? Decisions, decisions.
(I actually wish HE'D do something like that. . .I never have a clue. . . .)
