Anybody here have experience with the Amazon Big Deal?
Hi all!
Yesterday I received some good news: one of my books (The Boy From The Woods) was selected for an Amazon Big Deal in May via my publisher in the Netherlands. Has anybody here had one too? I know a few people on here who have had Kindle Daily Deals and they were over the moon about them, but I haven't heard anybody about the Big Deal yet. If you know more about the effects of such a promo, feel free to let me know I for one am looking forward to May! Being picked by Amazon for any kind of promo is right up there with Bookbub saying yes on my scale of awesomeness

Hi -- my small press has had a number of books in the Big Deals, also the Monthly 100s and the Daily Deals. In general, the promotions aren't nearly as effective as they were a couple of years ago, but they do provide a nice--brief--bump in sales.jenminkman said:Hi all!

My novel The Boy From The Woods, being a standalone, never sold that many copies without any promos (about 5-15 every month) but since the Big Deal kicked off on May 8th, the book has been selling 4-5 copies every day, and it's still happening right now! So, all in all I'm happy my book was picked as a Big Deal My ranking was previously in the gutter (looking up at the stars, admittedly) and right now it's been around #35,000 for more than a week!
