I have several of the old Zen V Plus Creative Players that have the screen failing and have no way to buy replacement screens.  After buying several bad players on eBay (after the sellers fibbed about condition and didn't want to refund my money), am almost ready to throw in the towel.

When the screen fails on these units, it shows up as pink print when the Creative logo comes up when first starting up the player.  Also the menu listings show as pink when using a blue background.  These screens only last another year or so after the failure begins.  These Zen V and Zen V Plus MP3 Players are still my favorite players and I would like to be able to buy a few in good working condition.
I can pay with Amazon gift cards or PayPal and will need good pictures.
Thanks.

I don't (sorry), but I have to say that Creative's original Zen has been my favorite mp3 player. My screen died too after long use; otherwise it was in great shape.
I use my smartphone for mp3 & audible audiobooks and as a music player; but my library uses Overdrive Media which for some reason gets lots of wma formatted audiobooks and won't do whatever is necessary to permit playing wma files on android devices. I know the devices can play wma files, because I have some non-DRM music files in that format and they play fine. So I keep an mp3 around to listen to those wma books. [yikes, don't mean to hi-jack your thread ::)]

Just dug out the box they were in. I have

1X Nomad Jukebox Zen 20gb working condition
1x Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40gb boot to rescue mode screen
1X new battery
1X wall charger
1X car charger

2X "leather" cases

According to wikipedia the Zen Jukebox and Jukebox Xtra came out about 4 years before the V series, so I don't think this is what you want. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_ZEN

I've been spring cleaning and I know that before my husband got an iPod, he had several different mp3 players. I am not sure what brand or model they were/are, but as I go through stuff, should I find anything I will let you know :)

mrsnicks, I am so sorry it took me so long to reply.  I too already have the original Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30 GB.  It was my first Creative player and I have the extra batteries.  Mine works fine except I can't get my newest computer with Window 7 to accept it.  These days I just use it as backup storage for part of my music collection.  My favorite large capacity Creative devices are the Vision M 30GB and 60 GB.  The sound is excellent on them.

So, am still looking for some of the Creative Zen V plus or Zen V players that run from 1GB up to 8GB with good screens.  Even if the player doesn't play music, if the screen works good I can remove the screen and use it to repair my broken players.

Thank you to everyone for looking.

Hi, I have a Zen Vision. Don't know if it is what you are looking for? I was cleaning out my old stuff and found it,but no charger. Let me know if it is what you want. It did work perfectly, just was replaced with an iPod and has been hidden away in a case.

I am delurking to add my 2 cents!

I don't have what you are looking for, but if you are looking for a simple mp3 player that plays audiobooks well and takes wma, I suggest getting a Sansa clip or clip+. They have them refurbished for sale just about everywhere. I know its not the brand you are looking for, just throwing out that suggestion. My previous two mp3 players were Clips. The only reason they were replaced was because the first one I accidentally dropped in dish water. The second one I ran into a wall (don't ask, lol) and broke the clip. At that time, to replace the clip cost as much as a used clip+, so I just bought a used clip+. (Actually it was like 3$ more, but I couldn't resist). I looked up your Zen and they look very similar. Though the clip has just one color and the clip+ has more. I don't know if it plays videos. I use mine strictly for audiobooks. I listen to them whenever I am not reading on my Kindle. Sometimes for a few hours a day and usually every day at least while I am cooking or cleaning. The battery lasts a good long while. LOL, I don't have one to sell, just wanted to offer some help. Any questions, please pm me. I love my Sansa!

trksh22,  I have purchased several Sansa.  The most recent one is the Sansa Clip 8GB refurbished for $26.99 on eBay (shipping free)  They are ok, they just aren't as nice to use as my Creative Zen V Plus players.  Hate the way you have to bypass the shuffle command at the beginning of every book on the Sansa.  The loud click to change to the next file is way too loud on the Sansa Clip to use it at night when my husband is asleep.  I only use my smaller players for audiobooks.  I do store some of my music collection on the big 30-60GB Creative M Players. Am still looking for more of the used Zen V Plus or the plain Zen V 1-8GB size for the screens to repair my screens that are dying.  I never use my small players for video.  I have a Creative Zen W 30 GB video player for storage of films and programs that I want to keep until I have time to watch them.  The Zen W also has cords to allow me to put the video up on the big screen TV.
I am still looking for Creative Zen V Plus and Zen V MP3 players to use for parts or to use by themselves if they are in good shape.

I was going to send this in a PM, but posted here in case anyone else was following the thread and wanted to get any feedback.

I made a mistake, I do not have the clip+. (My previous two were clip and clip+). I actually have the clip zip. I was trying to figure out what clicking you were talking about and realized I said the wrong sansa. Not everybody likes the Zip, I do because of the books. I don't know what you mean about shuffling between audiobooks. (sorry) You can choose which audiobook you want, but it will start from your last audiobook. I only have audiobooks on mine, no music. I set up my menu that way, too so that it lists audiobooks and settings. It does chapters, so you don't have to listen to it like music, if that makes sense. Also, even if it shuts down it will save where you left off, so you can resume. It remembers where you left off even if you switch audiobooks (LOVE that feature). Here's a video I found on Youtube showing the Zip.
If you don't want to see how it turns on, skip to about 2:20.

:D I know you love your Zen, I won't bother you anymore. Just wanted to clear it up.

It was a Sansa Clip Zip that I just ordered for $26.99 for an 8GB refurbished unit.  When talking about the audiobook and "Shuffle" command, I am saying that when the book opens on the plain Sansa Clip 4 GB unit I have, the first command visible is the "Shuffle"and then you can click on the first disc file, but "Shuffle" is always first on the list.    There is really no other player I have ever had that had the "Shuffle" on every book listed. It is just an extra step that is annoying.  Will see how I like the Clip Zip that is ordered.
