app self-promotion question

Hi everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Ken Tylman. I've written a few puzzle games and I'd like to let you know about them. I know you're all thinking, "Great, more puzzle games." :) I'm right there with you but as a sole developer puzzle games are relatively easy to produce and I do honestly believe my games are entertaining.

Anyway, a friend of mine recommended KindleBoards to me. She said the readers here are more intelligent and might like my games more than the general public. She also informed me that limited self-promotion is allowed here. I did find the rules for author self-poromotion, but I could not find any specifically for app developers. Before I post any links or talk about my apps, I would like to inquire about any rules pertaining to app self-promotion. Would I be correct in assuming that they should be limited to the Fire Talk forum and follow the same general guidelines of limiting to once-a-week updates? I really appreciate any help so that I don't violate any board etiquette.

Thanks,
Ken Tylman

Welcome Ken.

Thanks for checking about the rules first. . . we appreciate your consideration. :D

As a developer of apps for the Kindle Fire, the rules are pretty much the same as for authors -- except that we allow your one thread to be here in Fire Talk since that makes the most sense.  In fact, if you browser through here, you'll see there are a few other developer promo threads as well.

And there are a LOT of folks here who like the puzzles. . .so go for it. :D

Flattery will get you everywhere ;)

Welcome. I look forward to learning more about your app.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Ann. Self-promotion always makes me feel a little dirty so I try to make sure I am doing it in a way that doesn't offend anyone.

I don't consider telling the truth as being flattery :)
