2. I charge 5.00 plus the cost of your book for a review.
*The review therefore will be Amazon purchase verified.
*It will post to Amazon and all my sites.
I'm afraid this is against Amazon policy.

I feel the urge to offer a review to anyone who shows proof they download a free copy of Iron Bloom. No need to even pay or give a review back in return! Just copy and paste the receipt into an PM to me and...

Not serious (or am I..?)

Paid reviews are, flat out, not OK.

The most anyone can do is gift you the price of the book, and not a penny more. You would then have to buy the book with that money. THAT would be acceptable, because what is happening is you are getting the book from the author. However the honest thing to do at that point is to disclose that you were given a promotional copy for review purposes.

See, you need to be on the up and up.

What you're saying here isn't.

I was on my way to download it before I got confused and lost on facebook.

All terms of service are met, and no rules are being broken.
Except they aren't. It's against policy to accept compensation other than the book itself in return for a review. I don't meant to have a go at you, mostly, but you should be aware that you are indeed being naughty. :)

You're supposed to download it from Piratebay...

Facebook looks a lot like piratebay when you're tired. :?
Just for funzies ... this is 1/85th the cost of a Kirkus review!!!
Yes, and Dalya brings up a good point. You CAN charge for editorial reviews.

So if someone REALLY wants to pay you for a review that they can paste into their editorial reviews section, that's legit.

But on fiverr, you can get 85 reviews for the price of a Kirkus AND they're guaranteed to be 5 stars!
$5 is compensation. $0.05 is compensation.

Money changes hands, and it cannot be posted as a user review.

well I should put this differently . maybe if they purchase an ad for 4 days then I would just buy the book and give them a review . but to let you know 5 dollars is definitely not compensation . with Pay Pal fees site fees and so forth I don't make anything .
Nope. If someone hands you two quarters and a mango in exchange for reviewing the book, it's compensation. Not only is it still against Amazon policy, but the FTC requires you disclose that in your review. It doesn't matter if that money goes back into your website, etc.

I offer a valuable service to authors .
Nope.

Also what Mathew said. 8)

Lol! I just bought it on Amazon, not for a review, but because you gave me a genuine laugh right there. I was worried your heroines were too hardcore for me but I think I'll get along with Rose just fine.

Edited to add: I do realize it's free. I wanted to buy it.
Ok, Just wanted to update. I am doing free reviews. I will try to get 2 done per week.
Thanks for the great response to those who have contacted me.

And yeah, The Rosy One actually doesn't have a very hardcore personality except she's fighting. :D
