Being a publicly-traded company, they may be limited on what they can tell you about future, not-yet-announced plans, though.

Somehow I'm not afraid at all of the Blackberry/B&N partnership. Both losing players desperately trying to stay afloat.

Blackberry is so far inferior to iPhone it's not even funny. Ditto B&N to Amazon.

I doubt it, with regard to Blackberry "desperately trying to stay afloat". Many more corporate, law firm and other business environments use Blackberry than iPhone still, and likely will continue to for a long time. Personal use, maybe not so much. But Blackberry has the stranglehold in the business environment. They're just barely getting started in trying to make inroads on the personal side but they've got such a known brand name already, that they definitely have a chance.

Now their viability as an e-reader, is another story. Just like any other PDA's *real* viability as an e-reader...including iPhone.
