Hello, i got this Kindle Fire, and its battery lasts just few hours after i charge it..

I tried charging for 3hours, 6hours, result is always the same - maximum like 2 hours and then it needs recharge again.
Yesterday i tried charging it for  6hours, unplugged the charger, didnt touch it over the night, and in the morning the battery was almost empty for some reason..

This kindle is new, i bought it from amazon few weeks ago, it was like this from the start. I didnt change any settings or anything.

So yeah, is this normal that the battery lasts just few hours? Can it be that some app or setting is always running on kindle even when its turned off, killing the battery like that? Any advice on what i should do here?

No, if it's been like that from the start, it sounds like a faulty battery - I would contact Kindle Customer Support, they will likely exchange it for a new device.
Agreed.  See the thread at the top called "Amazon Kindle Support" for contact information.

Actually, yes, you could have an app running in the background OR there could be something wrong. I recommend you get something like GSAM Battery Manager to look at what apps are running and how much juice they are using. Also, it's possible that your Fire never got a full charge. They ship from the factory with a charge, but it probably wasn't full. I'd recommend leaving it plugged in overnight and see if that improves performance. If not, yes, probably time to call Kindle CS (Amazon US customers inside the US: 1-866-321-8851, outside the US: 1-206-266-0927. Other customers, see here.)

I've been having some battery issues with my Fire HD8.9. I'm probably going to be calling Kindle CS soon myself.
