I've been looking through the App store and there are several to choose from, but none jump out to me. I was going to install Pages, but $10 seems a bit pricey, I think.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

I'm curious to try the Swype ap but I think that's only available on android phones. 

As for your actual question, not a clue.  Wish I could help.  I'm curious about the answer myself!

If you don't have to do a lot of formatting (if you just want to get words down and prefer to do most of your writing elsewhere), I recommend WriteRoom -- you can sync with your main computer with DropBox, you can indicate formatting with markdown syntax, and it's very easy to use, with easy navigation of folders, etc.

I really like iA Writer and use it on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. All syncs through iCloud and Dropbox. It does Markdown too.
