I have two books listed with Amazon (fantasy titles) that show a bestseller rank, but only one bestseller rank, and not the multiple rankings many other titles sport that break them down into various genre and sub genre bestseller lists. I wanted to ask; what haven't I done to set this up properly - or is it not my oversight? I was sure that I'd filled in everything I needed to upon listing. Any ideas?

Typically you'll get those listings when you make the Top 100 in a genre. Looking at your overall ranking, you probably need to sell a few more to get listed in the genres. I think for most popular genres you'll need to be under 10,000 in the overall ranking, and the more popular a genre, the better your overall ranking will have to be.

For example, in Occult Horror you can make the top 100 with an overall rank of 11,000 or so, but for Contemporary Fantasy you'll need to be better than 5,000 to crack the Top 100. And of course, just like in golf, lower scores are better.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers.  :)

You learn something new everyday!

My titles go up and down like a rollercoaster. I have got as high as to nearly get past 10,000 - and that's why I was asking. I figured at that point I was probably getting close to being top 100 for epic fantasy. Typically, my first title hovers around 40,000. My second title is only new to Kindle, so it will be interesting to see where that ends up sitting.

I've got a few blog reviews coming up, hopefully that'll push me through that barrier.
