Sony Reader offered same author specials which included 4 or more books.  Does the Kindle offer anything like this?  Amazon offer 2 or more books together can you do this with Kindle books?  I have not found anything like this.

There are a few.  Two off the top of my head are the Elantra series by Michelle Sagara(o?) and one from Anne McCaffrey.

The first 2 books of George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series are sold together.

Also, if you search "bundle" in the Kindle store, you'll find a bunch of books by same authors bundled together.  I think most of them are romance though.
