Browsing ironically

Forbes has a funny little post about the limits of Amazon's recommendation engine. Apparently, it can tell a lot about your tastes (if you feed it data), but this version doesn't seem like it will ever be able to detect ironic browsing.

I was browsing ironically before it was cool.  8)  (that's the closest smiley we have to "hipster glasses.")
The reviews on the banana slicer are hysterical.
LOL.  I had to go and check out the bananna slicer and now will no doubt be forced to purchase one by the daunting marketing efforts of Amazon.
