I load Mp3 files from my pc into Kindle Internal Storage > Music folder.  This works fine because Home Main Menu has an option named Music.  I can play this music from Kindle, although not the best audio.
Now I want to load and play videos.  Kindle Main Menu has an option for Videos.  But Internal Storage does not have a Videos folder.  So I created a new folder named VIDEOS.  I drag WMV files from my pc to the new folder.  But when I go to Main Menu Videos,  they are not there.

George,

welcome to KindleBoards!

Yes, the 8.9 can play videos.  And I was pretty sure there was a Video folder.  Back in a sec, unless one of our members beats me to it!

Yes it can and it plays them beautifully!  Not sure about wmv files but you can definitely play drm-free .mp4 video files.  I sideloaded mine and there was a videos folder already there which is where I put them.  To play them you don't go to "videos" though (that would just be silly ;)  )  You have to open up your Personal Video app (already on the kindle) to find / play them

You can't play wmv--here is the complete list of all formats (book, audio, video) that the Fire can read; the video formats are last:

Kindle (AZW), KF8, TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively, Audible Enhanced format (AAX), DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, Dolby Digital (AC-3), Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC-3), non-DRM AAC, MP3, MIDI, PCM/WAVE, OGG, WAV, MP4, AAC LC/LTP, HE-AACv1, HE-AACv2, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, HTML5, CSS3, MP4, 3GP, VP8(.webm)
So that would be one of the problems. Sorry, I thought wmv was one of the formats that could be read.
