I'm not even 100% sure there are car chargers for the kindle but if there are, does anybody have any suggestions? My sister just bought a K1 and wants a car charger and I don't want to accidently recommend a sucky one so if anyone can offer advise what ones are the best that'd be great.

This is available from Amazon:

Comes with a regular house plug as well as a car plug and the tip that fits the Kindle 1. I have one and have used it to charge my Kindle with the house plug type. It worked great and I have no reason to believe the car plug part wouldn't work as well. It's by iGo and I gather you can get other tips as well so you can use one charger with multiple devices if necessary.

The iGo is also the one I have for my K1.  I also have the tips to go with my GPS, my Palm T/X, my phone and my iPod, so I only have to carry one charger with me when I travel.  There's also a splitter so you can charge two devices at once, but I only use that in the car.  You can get additional tips at most Radio Shacks, too.
