I tried to edit the Clippings file on my Mac and  I ran into problems.
I connected the Kindle to the Mac via USB.
I copied the text (.txt) file over to my Mac. Deleted the portions of the file that I didn't need anymore and then copied it back onto the Kindle. It replaced the existing txt file on the Kindle.
Then I unmounted the Kindle.
Now, however, on the Kindle, the Clippings file is empty. However, if I open the file on the Kindle from the Mac (when the Kindle is mounted), it is not empty?
Any ideas?
thanks

Well, it's not entirely Mac-specific.  I just tried the same operation, and everything worked as it should.  So, what could be different about what you did compared to what I did? I used TextEdit (the standard, built-in text editor).  I saved as plain text (not rich text).  And that about exhausts my brainstorming :D  How does all that compare to what you did?

If you PM me, and attach a the clippings file, I could try and see if there's anything odd about it.

Thank you for the info.
I figured it out - my bad.
The Clippings file on the Kindle defaulted to the end, where it is blank. So when I went to the beginning of  the file on the Kindle, it was there.
Stupid mistake on my part.
Thank you for the reply.
