Our
SHIFTERS AFTER DARK box set is #7 in the entire Kobo US store right now ... and it was #4 earlier!
Seriously, I literally can't breath. And you know we couldn't have done it without EVERYONE'S support. KB is FABULOUS and readers are AWESOME!
So, has this happened to anyone else before? What's our next step?
* Should we add Kobo Bestseller to our blurbs and all of our PR for the bundle?
* Should we add a banner to the box itself on Kobo that says "Kobo Bestseller"?
And does anyone know if Kobo reports to the USA Today and NYT bestseller lists?
Wow. Thank you. This is soooooo awesome! And thank you to the 5 AMAZING authors also in the box set:
Kate Danley
Dannika Dark
Marie Hall
Melissa F. Olson
SM Reine
SHIFTERS RULE!

ETA - A CONFESSION
First, thanks for all your sincere congrats! And, yes, it's absolutely true the box set recently hit #4 on Kobo US (we were right behind Deanna Chase's box set that hit #3 after a BB ad).
Sounds impressive, yes? Here's the thing... Aside from the facts this box set has already sold 60,000+ copies (so been there/done that with it), that I literally
can breathe, that the box set authors who have hit the USAT list have a pretty good handle on who reports and how many sales it takes to hit the big lists, and that we have no plans to hype this particular achievement, there's something here that all the squeeing and breathless prose disingenuously covers up.
Do you know how many sales in the US Kobo store it takes to hit in the Top 5? We've sold 87 units since the beginning of the month. It's not on promo, so it has fairly steady organic sales. That's an average of 10-11 sales/day. To hit in the Top 5. In the entire store. We may have spiked closer to 18-20 sales for the #4 placement, but still. We're, of course, quite appreciative of any sales we receive, but Kobo's reach in the US is obviously quite limited.
Kobo Canada would have been a quite different story.
So always keep in mind the hype that versus the reality. And, mostly, remember to pull back the curtain when you're in Oz.
