When I upload my manuscript that is in pdf, the format is messed up. I've tried all kinds of free online tool to convert my pdf fie to Word so that I can upload it to Kindle. But those tools are still converting my manuscript fully. The format in Word once when it's converted is still messed up. Please help so I can finally upload on Kindle and sell books. My manuscript in pdf is a little under 2mb.

Download Calibre and convert it to RTF. I'm not sure if it has Doc, but it does have everything else.

I assume this is something you are hoping to sell?  What program did you use to compose it originally?  Do you still have that file?  I'd start there to convert it for uploading if you can.  If not, you'll probably just have to convert it from PDF and clean it up manually.  But, honestly, no automatic conversion is going to be good enough to look professional to potential buyers.  In fact, you should manually proof it even if you convert it from a barebones text file to Kindle format!

Browse the threads here in the Cafe some -- there are a lot of folks who have plenty of experience and some have even written books that will give you some guidelines.

I've done a lot of books and for me the most effective way is to just scrape the PDF with your mouse. It time consuming and tedious but I've found it to be the most accurate way of getting the book converted. Sorry
