I've heard when an author orders their books (let's say they're ordering 50 for promotions) from Createspace it can take a while for the books to be delivered.

Does anybody have an answer to the average time from ordering to arrival?

Also, does anybody know how long it takes to get a proof delivered from Createspace?

Thanks!

I don't know about large orders, but my proofs have always taken less than one week to arrive.
That's great to know. I was talking to an author a while ago and she mentioned in passing to build in plenty of time between an expected release date and the proofing process. Apparently her proofs needed to be tweaked. She never explained how much time would be good!

She also said it could take a while to get author orders from Createspace so if anybody knows the answer to how long it takes, it would be greatly appreciated.

The standard shipping rate estimates a two-to-three delivery time. I get my orders in a week to a week and a half (East Coast to Central Plains). You can always pay more for expedited shipping if you *need* your books in a hurry.

Just a word of advice with the CreateSpace proofing process.  If you decide to tweak your file, you'll have to go through the entire process (CreateSpace review, ordering another proof, etc) again.  So yeah, definitely give yourself a decent buffer.  Also, allow some time for everything to get into the system once you've approved everything.

As for delivery, I'd say about a week, but you can get it expedited if need be.

Cheers,
E.
