I've considered doing the same, mainly because when I launch a new book, I want to have a print version available at the same time as the eBook version. Currently, it takes me about a couple of weeks (depending on quality of the proof) to get an print version out after launching an eBook.

I noticed that Createspace offers a conversion to Kindle tool as part of their printing setup process (usually at the end). But I wonder how the conversion looks - or do you get better results doing it yourself?

BTW: KDP select is only for eBooks, so Amazon doesn't care about print book versions.

I did the CS process for my first Vampira book, then they converted it for me for kindle. Looks awesome.They're customer service is the best I've ever experienced. My two cents.
