Does anyone else think Nookpress sucks?

I mean, seriously...can't get stuff formatted for it, and even when I do, books hardly sell at all there. What's the deal? Their Nook preview pane doesn't ever look the way it does when you download to an app or an actual, you know, nook. So--it really seems pointless and useless to me.

If someone out there can tell me they have a great experience with this and why, I'll consider putting my ebooks back on that platform again.

Disgusted!

I upload my epubs directly. I don't use their useless editor. I don't get any sales either.

Yes, like I say, even when I have managed to, no sales anyhow. What's the point? I mean, you'd think with such a major corporation, they'd be able to get their digital stuff together. Right? Is that just me who thinks that?
Their previewer is pretty bad.  That being said, it used to be my 2nd largest ebook platform, but lately Google Play has been trouncing it. There also seems to be an infuriating perpetual bug where my keywords will be there one day and blank the next.

Wow, I am so, so SO behind the 8-ball, here! Thank you for mentioning Google Play! I haven't even tried using their platform. Is it any good? Thanks again! :)

Well, I think they're closed to new publishers right now while they do some retooling, but it's an up/down scenario with them. It's a big and growing market, which is cool. The downside is their interface takes some getting used to and their pricing quirks are a major source of headaches for some. That being said, it's definitely been worth the plunge for me.
Yeah, I just saw that they're closed to me as a new publisher.  :'( Oh well, I can wait it out. Maybe they're working on getting some of those pesky bugs you mentioned "retooled". At least, I hope so. Thanks again!

I wonder... would D2D count as an 'existing' publisher?
I haven't had any serious problems with NookPress and they're something like my third best sales channel. I don't use their editor, just upload ready-to-go epub files from my formatter. I've heard visibility over there is more dependent on keywords, versus the popularity and bestseller lists that allow so much indie visibility on Amazon. But I find once the ball gets rolling in the Nook store, sales tend to be fairly consistent, without sharp spikes and sudden cliffs.

okay, gotcha
I've only been on Nook for a month, but sales have been steady. Like others have said I uploaded my own ePub, which probably made their process less frustrating.
I actually sell better on Nook than on Amazon. No idea why.
I do okay on Nook...

As far as formatting and their interface, if you upload .epub files, you'll have much better results.
I upload direct to Nook with an epub and haven't really had any problems. I see complaints though and wonder if I'm just lucky.

As for sales they are currently neck-and-neck with Google play and consistent.

Remember, the Nook itself may be dying, but the Nook reading app will live on as long as people are using it.
Me too. When Nookpress went live, I spent a while trying to upload a book and then decided to opt in to Nook on Smashwords instead of give myself the headache. I've also been using Direct 2Digital for my pen names and absolutely love their ease of uploading.
I've had a lot of trouble with the site. If I was doing everything over, I would publish through D2D instead of spending so much time tearing my hair out waiting for Nook to verify my account for two months!

D2D is a distributor, not a publisher. But you don't have to worry about that anyway, since D2D does not distribute to Google Play.
I was doing OK on Nook until recently. I haven't been doing much in the way of marketing lately, so I blame that more than anything else. That being said, Nookpress' interface is HORRIBLE! I remember last year when I tried uploading one of my books there, I could not avoid using their godawful editor. This was before I was able to make up my own epubs, but even so, I don't think I'll be going back to direct distributing to Nook. :(
