Yes, a cheeky question around here. But if you don't ask... :)

Anyway, I gave away a few hundred copies of Sand and Magic over Christmas. I've had quite a few nice emails from people, 2 good reviews on Amazon.co.uk, but I'm shy of reviews on Amazon.com...

The book is about 50,000 words and an adventure yarn about a 21-year-old racing driver named Amy Skylar. She's a fiery redhead and, after a fall from grace, takes part in the toughest race in the world. Her beloved father is against the whole idea...and she faces a terrorist threat...

If any of you would like to give it a go, let me know (warning: there are no vampires in this book! :D). You can add your name here, or pm me, or email on: geoffnolan.com [at] gmail [dot] com

Cheers!
Geoff

Hey Geoff - Good for you for asking.

Love the premise, love the cover -- but between January being booked solid with exams (I'm not even writing *sniff*) and (um, more valid) you might have just seen the thread rehashing the Caitie's Banned For Life saga LOL - Amazon will take my money and let me sell books, but that's it *shakes fist*

I added you to my TBR list as soon as I'm done with exam torture!

GOOD LUCK!

No worries - best of luck with the exams. I do, however, expect to read my usual CQ-related tweets about online dating..! And why men are such jerks! Ha!! My conclusion to your male vs. female profiles - men are simply honest :D And now that I've shaken the tree, I'm off to bed :D

Night y'all.

edit: thanks for the compliments about the book!

Oh, trust me, the women's profiles were JUST as depressing! I just didn't have to write any for the book so I focused mostly on the men. But in case you missed that #GirlNotes: Women were just ask likely to say they were looking for a "successful" or "well off" man as men were looking for a hot girl *sigh*

We live in such enlightened times.

What Roomie got from the hours of researching with me: Thank god we're not ugly.

Yup, she's just as enlightened *snort*

I remember when I was in first year at university, I was getting on great with a particular girl one night. She was from a 'well-off' family. Talking for hours, things were going well until she asked what kind of car I drove. I told her I didn't own a car - I got the bus. She literally stopped talking to me and walked off. As an 18-year-old, that was hard to take, but it was a good lesson in life.

So, nowadays, I always ask a girl what kind of car SHE drives ;D (okay I don't really but it's tempting..!)

Cool! If only my facebook crowd was the same. The only thing they seem interested in is drinking. Well, they are Irish... ;D
Thanks very much, I'll have a look for you on facebook now.
