Hi,

I'd like to share my book about the bike ride around the world that I completed in 2011.

It is an account of my journey with information and history about the places I visited. It includes my thoughts, observations and the physical challenges faced during the good times and the bad. I share my opinions of the cultures I travel through and share my feelings as I travel further and further from my home. My philosophy on completing this ride was to get around the planet using a bike and only a bike; every inch of the way. I succeeded in my ambition and cycled over 14,000 miles across Europe, Asia and North America. My motivation for writing the book was to show that an ordinary person can have an extraordinary adventure in a relatively short time. I've written this book to share my story and the amazing experiences that I had. It's not a book full of arty descriptions about beautiful places, it doesn't have any clever metaphors; it's just my story. It tells the story of a normal person spending nine months experiencing the world from the saddle of a bike. Today there are many books about people who have rushed around the world by bike in order to break a world record. These books, while impressive, are not a great read. They do not tell the reader what the countries are like as the author's haven't really experienced them properly. My book is different; it's at a slower pace and in my opinion, is a much more interesting adventure. While I do tell the readers about the physical challenges of the adventure, it is much more than that.

If you're interested in getting hold of a copy it is available on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Every-Inch-Bike-Around-World-ebook/dp/B00CLK76HM/ref=tmm_kin_title_0 on both kindle and paperback. There is a long free preview (over 4 chapters) available for kindle too at the same link.

Welcome to KBoards, Or Welcome Back ;) OR Hi, glad you're still here. :D Congratulations on the book! :)

Much of what follows you are, no doubt, already aware of, so please consider this to be just a friendly reminder. :) (The posting of this 'welcome letter' doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so we post this note in every thread. :) )

KBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum. Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows:

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function or the Kboards bookmark tool available on each thread) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts outside the Book Bazaar constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Thanks for being part of KBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

It's valuable always in my experience to leave home comfort and go on an adventure! I always to keep every singly necessary thing about mu bike, before going to ride. Their are many dirt bike air filter guide and other helpful thinks about your lovely bikes. I never really feared life for me, but somewhere in South and Central America, I feared to be robbed. Fortunately, most of the world consists of good people who just want to help! The real hazard is so many hours a day in the traffic. I've been close, but no accidents so far (knock on wood)..

I, too, believe that a long bike ride is the best psychologist. I love cycling, and I seriously prepare for these little trips every time. After such a rest, I can work at my best again and feel a little reset. When traveling long distances, you should have a reliable vehicle, and it's best to insure it right after you buy it. This will give you a sense of security even if a part breaks or your bike gets stolen. Simple Bike Insurance company will help you insure your bike. Relaxing on bike rides is a good way to escape your routine.
