So, the sales on my series are going well. Dream come true. I have the 5th book, part 1 out this weekend.
There is one last part to write. Since I finished part 1, less than a week ago, I'm taking about a month off. I have been writing book after book with only 3 or 4 weeks off. I playfully said to readers I need a month before they start asking for part 2.

No such luck. I'm so honored that they want more of the series. But I'm getting a little over whelmed with request for part 2 when part 1 hasn't even one out yet. These are 60k books or over. I don't want to disappoint the readers but I know I need a break. So, anyone facing this? Advice welcomed:)

I think so too. But sometimes, it depends. If I'm on deadline, I try not to o online for more than a few minutes.
Or I will never finish:)

Thanks DDark,

You are so right. I wrote 2 full books in 5 months. And now, I need some off time. I think most of my readers are ok with it. But you still want to make hem happy. Then you sit and wish for a button to press that says "instant book"

SO thrilled to hear about how things are taking off for you! That is so awesome! YAY! So, I feel that a lot of these emails about "When is the next book coming out?!?" are more about fans wanting to be supportive and enthusiastic rather than demanding you chain yourself to your desk. They will be okay with just about anything as long as you communicate it. Have you tried posting an anticipated publication date wherever you can? So rather than them writing and asking when the next book is coming, they can see on your Amazon author page or blog or website, "Oh! The next book is coming out January 2014. Better mark my calendar!" It's helped me. You've done an ENORMOUS amount of work and TOTALLY deserve a little break to refill the creative reservoir.
I am like a little kid when I see you on here Kate. It was only a few months ago you have me life changing advice. I will be forever greatful. You're right about the readers. I think it comes from a good place. I think I figured out a way to fill the time. Will be writing a few "Gurdians" short stores. They are prequels. I asked the readers and they love the idea.

I can't believe it's taken off. I know I have a long way to go still I'm happy. We went from 14 sales in three months to 7k ( this month alone) I still have an extra kidney if your ever need it. How goes things for you?
