First paid promotion ever

Our Bookbub ad went out for the first book in my wife's series today (A free promo e-mail). This is the very first promotion we have ever done that required any investment aside from time. Only a few hours in and we are nearing 6k downloads for the month, as well as a two new reviews. I know it will take a while to see if the sale-through can pay for the ad--but I am hopeful! We also submitted to a few free sites for the same day. ENT picked us up three days early (2k downloads), POI has not yet (probably won't), not sure who all else has posted it thus far today.

How did all of your very first paid promotion go? (Bookbub or other)

Good luck. Haven't done one myself yet, but always interested in see the results of others. Hopefully it pay off.

Thanks! Downloads are still rolling in although they have slowed down. I can contribute about 5k downloads to the ad so far. Really hoping to break into the front page and the top 20--we will see!
