Free audio books?

Does anyone know where I can get some free audio books? I would like to get a couple audio books to listen to on my iPod while using the treadmill at the gym (I don't dare bring my Kindle in there - I would hate to have it hit the ground, and really don't want to touch it with sweaty fingers...). I only want a few because I'd rather read than listen, and I don't want to subscribe to Audible.com (yet..).

If you goggle "free audiobooks" several options come up. One was

Thank you! I will check it out right now. :)
Just saw this today on MSN. They are giving away Obama's The Audacity of Hope.

You do have to sign up for their 14 day free trial. I haven't tried it out yet.

Also, gutenberg.org has some of its popular titles in audio form.  They are read by volunteers, of course, so the quality may not be the best, but, hey, they're free.
Check your public library. Ours uses 2 different services (can't remember the names off the top of my head!) so there is a wide variety of books. Once you download it (I *think* you can download to almost any format) it is good for 2-3 weeks and then is automatically deleted, although I think you do have the option to renew but it will only let you do it once. Of course I would imagine that only larger libraries would offer this.
