I'm sure you're all going to think I'm nuts, but I absolutely LOVE The Iliad and The Odyssey. I must have read each one a hundred times over my -- er -- more than 25 years of life.

I am definitely NOT a literary expert on either book, I just love the stories and the way they are written. (rosy-fingered Dawn, etc)

I am reading the Andrew Lang translation on my Kindle right now, as a matter of fact. I'd love to have the Fagles translation, but it's not available for Kindle.

I have had great luck with Mobipocket Reader and Mobipocket Creator, using them to convert pdf files and html to Kindle-readable. I am also using Mobipocket Reader to organize my ever-growing library of free non-Amazon downloads.

The Fagles translation of The Odyssey is available for the Kindle. I only remembered this because some guy came on the Amazon board and made a colossal stink about it, and I found the book.

I've seen these books on other sites that are in Kindle readable format and also free so you wouldn't have to convert, like manybooks.net or feedbooks.com.
