Hi

Just joined after recommendation by another author (Susan Fleet) I have been self published on Kindle KDP and Createspace for three months and didn't even know this Kindleboard existed!

My novel is called Solace and Distress and is available at the following links:

Paperback: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solace-Distress-Mt-Stephen-Holland/dp/1481120166/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1355397337&sr=1-2
Kindle: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Solace-and-Distress-ebook/dp/B00A1LOI9M/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1353341607&sr=1-1

I have a dedicated Facebook page too, I would appreciate it if you could have a look and hit the 'like' button, there is also an app on there which allows you to view the first three chapters of the book. https://www.facebook.com/SolaceAndDistress

That's enough for now, I must press on with the sequel (I am about one third of the way through)

Steve,

Welcome to KindleBoards and congratulations on your book!

KindleBoards is a Kindle fan and reader forum. As you browse KindleBoards, keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed in the Book Bazaar. (You've posted your book thread in the right place; this is just our standard welcome that we place in all book threads. :))

A brief recap of our rules follows:

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then. You may modify the latest post to reflect new information.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts outside the Book Bazaar constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread: Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum: http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,36.0.html. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

Was the prophecy on her naming day her destiny or her judgment? Why do desire and duty pull her in opposite directions?

As a child Celeste is surrounded by loving parents, caring friends and the comfort of a small village. Natural disaster and violent invasion end that life abruptly. Celeste and her mother are driven from all they hold dear to find shelter in a remote coastal haven. She comes of age as a strong, independent woman with a mind of her own, but with the shadow of the prophecy hanging over her.

Now Celeste overcomes her love of isolation and suspicion of men, and returns to the village of her birth where her mother reveals details of her father's past. She renews a childhood friendship with Bracen and they both undertake a quest to find Celeste's father. On this journey she develops a strong empathy with a newcomer who like her has suffered a grievous personal loss.

Celeste must choose between her two soul mates and discover how she can fulfil her destiny and triumph over the tragedy of her youth.

Solace and Distress

Second edition now available with new cover art.

Celeste dwells with loving parents in the harsh land of Codencia Minor. Though life is hard she has friends and family within comfort of a small village. Natural disaster and violent invasion end that way of life abruptly. Celeste and her mother are driven from their home to find shelter in a remote coastal haven. There Celeste raises a young Falcon who becomes her constant companion as she grows into a strong, stubborn and independent woman, but with the shadow of a prophecy and the apparent loss of her father hanging over her.
Celeste must overcome her love of isolation and suspicion of men, and return with her Falcon to the village of her birth. There she renews a childhood friendship with Bracen whilst her mother reveals long hidden details of her father's past. She swears an oath to find him despite her mother's distress
The story then charts the course she and Bracen make as she develops into a formidable warrior on her journey north. She will meet and develop a strong empathy with a mysterious newcomer who like her has suffered a grievous personal loss.
Celeste must ultimately choose between her two soul mates and discover how she can fulfil her destiny and triumph over the tragedy of her youth.
