Howdy. I'm just getting started here, obviously. I turned my YA sci-fi romance manuscript into a kindle ebook after beating the bushes at Querytracker for a few months in search of an agent. I didn't exhaust the list, but after my first rejected full manuscript, I exhausted my sanity and banished my manuscript to a box under my bed for dust collection. Then my brother sent me an article about self-publishing on Amazon, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Accumulating potential revenue sounds nicer than accumulating rejection letters. So, hello self-publishing world. Looks like a peachy place at first glance.
